Resizing parts causes lag and script autocomplete just does not work

The descendant count is a little bit higher in the original reaching 208182, but how can I lower this number?

I’d also like to know how you reduced this number, did you remove specific things or did you just go and delete some random stuff?

Cornfield seems to be causing a lot of lag, im going to try to optimize it, but there is still more to fix asides from that

Your corn field is definitely very laggy. The geometry on it is quite intensive it seems. Not sure if you actually need all those corns.

Well i significantly reduced the lag on it

The way that I do it is.
Remove anything that has a lot of parts, and geometry.
Delete slowly one portion of the place at a time until I find something that is laggy.

Good news! i seem to have found the root cause of the lag, i am laughing extremely hard, the cause was…

This mesh right here. after removing it the scaling is silky smooth

As for the second issue, i didn’t experience it in the first place, so even if after you remove this mesh if you are still lagging i would try removing some things like some of the corn on the field or you can make it less intensive for studio by making the corn chunks bigger

Wow, sorry for not replying because I recently went out but this is actually hilarious!
When I get back home I’ll try and fix this and try and optimize the corn field too.

Those hidden Donut geometry is working its way through. LOL

Alright, this one might be a bit harder to fix.

First make sure you have autocomplete enabled before we do anything crazy,

go to File > Studio Settings and at the search bar at the top type autocomplete

Make sure it matches those, if it does try disabling them, closing out then going back and reenabling.
if that doesnt work click the reset all settings button.

if that doesnt work you might wanna do a “clean install” of roblox studio
Well, its not exactly a “clean install” where we remove everything but sometimes it can help.

So, press windows + r then type “%localappdata%\Roblox”

Then delete those 2 files (not a clean install but i dont think i can delete anything else without messing with your main roblox install)

Then reinstall roblox studio.

Let me know how that goes.

I deleted the RobloxStudio file but I don’t have the other file you do, instead I have these 2 files with similar names to yours

Weird thing is I have been editing another roblox studio file for a while now and everything works just fine, I guess it’s just my place

script editor works just fine

I decided to just delete both and nothing changed when I reinstalled, other places are fine but it’s just “that” place that has the problem.

Could it be a script somewhere in the game, that’s the only difference between our two place files
(i have heard of scripts that glitch intelisense but they are bit tricky to find)

If you want to send me a place file with scripts privately my devfourm dms should be open

To be honest, I think the problem is the cornfield because without it the descendant count goes down by about 200k.
I’ve made a seperate post asking how I can optimize it.

Gotcha, You might wanna mark the previous solution as a solution then and then i will see what i can do in the other post

they still didint give you solution
