Only once out of multiple tries have I ever been able to move the eyelids on this rig. Please help me identify the issue! I rerigged it multiple times in multiple ways and this won’t change. Is it too close to the head to move?
I guess by default they have to be closed or I can’t move them…? I really wish this wasn’t the case!
Leaving forum open in case anyone has a solution that lets me move them without having them outside the skull.
EDIT: If I put them inside the skull at all, they can’t be moved… While animating… I can’t animate the blink at all

Does this apply for every other limb as well? This is issue is quite strange…
In the video the explorer window shows yellow arrows next to everything except for the eyelids.
What are the descendants of those items when you click on the arrows? Do you need to add them to the eyelids to get them to work?
This only occurs with the eyelids.
I’d imagine it’s either a bug or something outside of Roblox. Like if you can’t just select the bone and turn it then it’s probably a bug to report.
I’m not sure what you mean by this. I’m having the original modeller/rigger take a look at it so I hope they find a solution.
I think Scottifly means inside the meshpart, there should be a motor6D within them. You can see in your explorer that there’s nothing within the eyelid meshes.
Do you see the same behavior with the ears? Because they are both bones that are at the end of the chain and they also don’t have a motor6D within their meshes.
I have my Motor6Ds in a separate folder under the model. It doesn’t affect anything negatively, and my co-developer prefers I organize it that way.
Try to Reapply the motor joints or try to take them out of the folder. Maybe that might fix it.
In your explorer window video there are white triangles next to almost every MeshPart in the rig.
If you click the triangles it’ll show you all the items that are children of each MeshPart, just like looking at the children of a Model.
See if your eyelids are missing anything that the other MeshParts have.
In the folder with all your Motor6Ds click the EyelidLeft and see what the Weld0 and Weld1 Property items are. One of them should be the left eyelid MeshPart.
Are you talking about the Part0 and Part1 properties in the Motor6D? These are in the original post…
Again the Motor6Ds aren’t parented under the parts. They’re in a separate folder. This doesn’t affect anything though.
I have done this before multiple times and it made no change. I assure you the parentage of the joints is absolutely unrelated to this issue. The rest of the rig works fine.
Maybe try switching the Weld0 and Weld1 from the head and eyelid to the eyelid and head?
It is very hard to understand the problem… Might be ROBLOX studio bug.
It presumably is a Roblox studio bug. Turns out the only way to get it to work is if you MANUALLY add the eyelids to the animatable object list in the animator. Super weird and inconvenient! Credits to Chezmily for pointing this out.
