Review on my game, Aura Clash!

Hello devs!

I just made a new game called Aura Clash. The game is currently in ALPHA testing. Please play the game and give me your thoughts. How is the game right now? How can I make the game for fun? The game should be fun for everyone (1 player alone or multiple players playing).

This game is meant to be a hybrid between Steal Time From Others and Blade Ball.

Thanks a lot! Your feedback is appreciated.

map is empty , sword not equipped by default , swords are used as weapons when that makes it a clone of every other game so i would make an aura ranged weapon or something , images arent revelant to the game since the game is about aura not swords

I get it being close to Steal Time From Others, but how is it related to Blade Ball? There is no ball, and I didn’t even get a blade on spawning in.

Also, this is kind of a nitpick, but the game “aura clash” isn’t fitting. The “aura” is just the game’s currency, and the fighting isn’t that intense. I thought it was gonna be a combat game with cool VFX based on the title.

Here’s what I’d change:

  • Give the player some kind of weapon when they spawn in.
  • Make aura a bigger part of the game rather than just the currency. It would be cool if you could fight with auras that have different effects and animations.

It’s a neat but overdone concept, standing out with cool effects will definitely help your game.

Thanks for the feedback!

I added a few things to the map to make it a little more engaging. I made it in which the sword is equipped by default.

I will take into account the other things you said!

The player now spawns in with the weapon. The blade ball twist is that there are abilities in the game. You can do things like go invisible or get a shield, just like in blade ball.

For sure, I will try and make the aura part a bigger part of the game.

I’d also suggest making the ability change based on the aura/weapon you equip. Having to split one currency two ways (abilities & weapons) kinda sucks IMO.

Nicee. I am glad you found the game fun

I wanted to add on to @eatabler0ck’s point. I added a lot of cool VFX into the game! This includes death animations and just the VFX on swords.

I want to make the game grindable; players should want to get more and more Aura because they can unlock cool swords and death effects.

One thing that I have noticed in other STFO games is that it is very hard to get new swords and things like that. In my game, players can start to get good swords right from the get-go, and for the players that grind a lot, they will be rewarded with even better swords.

this game makes me mad
some guy named flidgedoors stole all my aura with op dashing ability it’s insane good game tho

W thanks

Yeah I will nerf the dash ability don’t worry lol

oh yea do that now I’m not mad anymore

What I mean is something like this:

  • Players start with a default aura. Each aura has its own VFX and abilities.
  • By gaining aura points, you can obtain new auras with different VFX and skills.
    • For example, a “Basic” aura would have some small VFX, a punch attack, and a dash ability.
    • A “Hydro” aura could have water-related VFX, a water attack, and some unique ability with it (for example, a “dive” or a small wave.)

Each aura could have a unique attack and skill, and that would make players want to keep playing to obtain cool new auras.

Ways to make it easier to create
  • If you still want two different shops for auras and abilities, make another currency for the abilities so players don’t have to choose between the two.
  • If you want to keep the animations and attacks simpler, you could have the same fighting animations with different effects (for example, no effects for a basic aura, a fiery punch for a rage aura, etc.)
  • If you wanted to add a skill for each aura, you could always repeat abilities with different effects or slight upgrades.

I hope this clears up my previous post. Remember, this is just feedback, and it’s ultimately up to you for what you decide to do.
