One of the gamemodes is “Treasure Hunt”. There will be 2 crews, each with his own ship. There will be a riddle map pointing the treasure’s location.
Each time the treasure’s location is random. It can be on one of many islands in the sea.
To win, the crew must get to the location, dig and find the treasure first.
So I need ideas on how to make the map, like what kind of puzzle should it be, how should it point the treasure’s location?
My first idea was to make the compass of Jack Sparrow, that simply points in the direction of the treasure, but that’s too boring, I want players to work their heads hard, in order to figure out the location.
it would be more fun if the puzzle was just words ( or images for the ones who don’t know english like me )
something like : listen carefully because the hunt will be hard , this time you need to think before you search but think fast to win … To find the Treasure You Have To Go to the sun Direction and find the Deepest part of the Ice land And at the lonely tree you will have to Dig to find the desired prize
it’s clear but will be hard to find : Hmmm.
I need to go up to a high place, to know where is the sun
But where is the Cave
How will I get to the tree in this dark cave ( or in this maze )
For example in STALKER there are special anomaly finders, that beep more as you get closer to the anomaly. In Sea of Thieves it’s very simple, it just gives you the image of the islande, and you only have to find it on the map. In some games they give you coordinates, and you have to figure out the coordinates on the map.
Hard, it HAS to be hard, make 6 riddles you need to complete to find the treasure so people will stay engaged and will have to squeeze their heads, maybe also difficulties might be a thing
