When bulk uploading images (PBR for SurfaceAppearance), going in to right-click to collect the AssetId of each image to paste it into the SurfaceAppearance often results in giving me the wrong AssetId. This is only for the first couple of minutes, so potentially it could be an issue with temporary asset ids or pending behaviour? Or maybe it copies the wrong AssetId from the list of recently uploaded?
Immediately after uploading a set, I often encounter my SurfaceAppearance looking wildly wrong, almost as if the texture maps are being mixed up. I notice that copying the asset ID of the same image multiple times in a row gives me a different AssetId each time until it finally ‘lands’ on giving me the correct one.
It occasionally makes my clipboard blank too, as seen in the following media:
i have the same problem like this, and its so annoying sometimes.
This works on toolbox too
i hate that the fact this bug goes un noticed quite a long time.
sometimes it work or dont, you have to pick another asset to do it.
heres the demonstratation of me tried to copy the asset, but gets the same id over and over.
Sometimes it copies no assetID at all. One time it even managed to copy something else on my computer? Which was either A) something previously in my clipboard that I forgot about or B) it somehow completely retrieved the wrong thing in my RAM.
possibility, it was something from the clipboard. not the ram. if it was from a ram, what you’re paste should be converted into ascii because its a hexadecimal values. so its not possible that it pastes something from the ram.
I’ve been having a similar issue for the past two months now. Both CTRL + C and Right-click > Copy are inconsistent in Studio when pasting afterwards. It seems to be purely a Studio problem, because copying anything outside of Studio (and then pasting into Studio) holds consistent results.
