Rights Manager throws an error if you input a lot of URLs, says to retry, doesn't work, but partially submits some of the request

  1. Make a Removal Request
  2. Put 100+ URLs of infringing content
  3. Submit the content; observed it likely failed, likely due to some throttling issue
  4. Click “Try Again”; observe it likely failed again
  5. Go to your Rights Manager home page, observe there are likely 2+ partial requests for the same thing; interestingly, the status of these requests says “Error” - unclear if this means they were not actually submitted or I am hitting another throttling issue

I now have 4 nearly identical partial requests for the same things.

Thanks for the report! Just to confirm, we have a ticket filed in our internal database for this issue.

I think you need to wait a bit because you’ll already observe that the status says “Error.” This happens to all requested claims regardless of size, but if you give it some time, it fixes itself—at least, that’s what happened to me. For instance, by now, these requests should already be completed, as that error status is just a short-term issue that appears right after submission. And I think the waiting time also depends on the size of your report.

I don’t know the reason behind it, but it might have been looked into. Could you verify if the case is like this? Because I initially had the same confusion as you, but I realized it was just temporary. My report, however, contained significantly less content, but even I had to wait a bit longer.

Also, due to this bug, don’t submit the same report multiple times, as it could be a reason you can’t use the Rights Manager in the future.

An error status does not mean properly submitted. I have had successful submissions in the past. This is not that.

Nearly a month later, none of these submissions have been reviewed.

As stated in the report, I clicked the “Try Again” button. This is a side effect of that.

Hi, this issue should be fixed now. Please try to submit a new request and let us know if there are any issues.

The request from February was suddenly reviewed and my access to the tool has been suspended. I cannot confirm if this bug is truly solved and there is no obvious way to review what was revealed or appeal to regain access. The reports were submitted in good faith that the content was indeed intending to impersonate + infringe upon my content. I had reported ~80 bot-generated experiences that took my experience’s icon, thumbnail, title, description, in English and varied locales.

Hi, I’m looking into this for you, if this was a mistake we will restore your account soon. We’re actively working on improving the current abuse prevention process.

Hey, you should have access to Rights Manager again. Sorry about that

Many thanks, greatly appreciate the timely appeal. FWIW, in reviewing the various claims that were rejected - they were incorrectly rejected for being created “prior” to my content, which is not true.

Would you recommend I try bulk submitting requests (either on the incorrectly reviewed content or additional botted content) to test if this bug still exists or refrain for the interim? Should I submit an additional bug report about these inaccurate rejections?

Feel free to bulk submit more requests. You may get rate limited as part of our abuse prevention efforts, if you do then you may need to wait til the next day to submit more requests.
For the inaccurate rejections, yeah, please open a separate bug report.
If you get suspended again, let us know asap and we’ll restore access
