ROBLOX 3D Animation Render Fight Scene

Hey guys,
Last night whilst procrastinating, I found an old blender clip I had animated a few months ago. I decided to finish it off and render it. I added some sound and some music and figured I’d share it with you!

Some stats:
Renderer: Blender Cycles
Video Length: 24 Seconds
Render Time: 12 Hours (1 Hour per 2s of video)
Light Bounces: 6,6
Sampling: 200
Motion Blur Shutter: 1.5

Here’s the video, enjoy :stuck_out_tongue:

Why use Cycles?

What do you recommend I use? Just blender render? I find it tends to only apply one shade of light per face for some reason…

Blender’s Render with GLSL and AO turned on makes a world of a difference for me, nice job on the animation too.

That’s because the mesh is low poly, you could try a smoothing it out.

Cool, but you need to reduce the motion blur, and increase the brightness. I suggest keeping the shutter below 1.0; 0.5 will mimic a film shutter.

Yeah I felt the blur was too high at times. I really wanted the blur for parts of the scene where he dashes, but otherwise it wasn’t as nice. Perhaps there’s a way to set a curve for that…

Shouldn’t the motion blur depend on how fast the object is moving, you could put it in post if you don’t want to use Blender’s.
