Whenever I try to join someone on roblox, join a game, or open the roblox client, it loads for a few seconds and then closes instantly. I have tried rebooting my computer but I haven’t been able to open roblox at all.
i’m not sure if you’re supposed to post on here about that, but i’m not the expert.
delete & reinstall roblox and try opening the client first (and logging in) before joining any games.
I reinstalled it but the bug still occurs, I was only able to join once before it broke again.
Sorry to hear that.
Can you elaborate on your problem? Does the Roblox app itself open & crash, or does it look like it’s loading on the webpage but actually never opens at all?
It says its loading roblox for around 1-2 minutes, and then closes.
What is “it”? I’m assuming you mean the Roblox application.
Is this occurring on the roblox loading screen, or in the update gui?
Thanks for the picture.
So it allows you to open the application, but when you join a game it makes the update ui appear?
I might have a potential solution, go on the webpage and log into an alt account. Join a game on the webpage and wait for Roblox to update. What this does is resets all of roblox’s stored settings on your computer and then to your account’s personal settings.
In theory, it should refresh any corrupted data in your application.
I tried going on an alt, but it did the same thing.
Did you log into the webpage using the alt? Does Roblox attempt to update?
I logged onto the webpage with my alt, and it shows the same thing when I try on my main. (The picture above)
Interesting.
How did you uninstall Roblox from your computer?
I opened add or remove programs and uninstalled roblox.
Okay, so I want you to follow these steps when you have time:
-
Uninstall roblox by going to add or remove programs like your last attempt
-
Go into appdata on your computer (To navigate to the AppData folder from the command prompt, press WIndows + R, then simply type
%appdata%
and press Enter.) -
Go into local, find and delete any remaining Roblox files
-
Restart your computer
-
Reinstall Roblox
If this doesn’t work, the issue is unfortunately with the computer itself. First do a FULL virus scan, even if it takes a few hours. If there is nothing found, I would recommend going back into settings and doing a windows clean start.
