Roblox Client failing to open

PC Info: Windows 10 Pro, 22H2
Date First Experienced: June 21st, 2023
Date Last Experienced: July 19th, 2023

Steps:

1. Open Roblox.com on any internet browser.
2. Select any experience and play
3. Wait for the Roblox Client to start

Expected Behavior: Roblox Client finishes authorization process and proceeds to open the game engine.
Actual Behavior: Roblox client fails to complete authorization process and closes itself, failing to open the game engine.

What I’ve tried to troubleshoot:

• Restart PC
• Reran new installer

Log/dump files were attached to the internal ticket by a Roblox Staff (@Focia19), due to the sensitive information they may contain, will not be shared publicly!

Have you tried reinstalling roblox? And this does not seem to be a global bug as I haven’t experienced this really. Or it can be your pc issue?

Thousands of people are experiencing this because of the anticheat. I have too, but I was able to fix it by closing a program I recently downloaded, called RTSS (an fps viewer). Other programs may be scaring the client from opening, such as MSI Afterburner, Wine, old fps unlockers, etc.

I see, maybe its because I haven’t played Roblox for a long time?

it seems that game overlays cause this problem. I was having this issue, and people were saying MSI afterburner is known to cause this issue. I didn’t have MSI afterburner, but I did have Gefore Experience which had its in game overlay enabled. Disabling this fixed the problem for me

I use GeForce’s overlay everyday and it doesn’t cause issues. Maybe a particular setting in GeForce caused the issue instead?

Oh I’ve been having this one happen a lot.
I’ll click play, the ‘starting roblox’ thing pops up, closes, and then nothing happens.

The issue was linked with the MSI overlay, and ofc Byfron blocking it. Though MSI worked with studio which led be to believe that it wasn’t the problem. Thanks for the reply’s and helping me solve it!

Roblox Studio does not have the anticheat, that’s why!

game overlaying causing this problem, try disabling geforce experience overlay in settings

But it look like 5x longer to load so I thought that it affected studio as well.
