Roblox Client keeps freezing for a single frame multiple times a minute on a 4080-SUPER, reinstall / reboot did not work

For the last day or so studio has been freezing for a second a dozen times a minute. I removed all the plugins, and all the betas. I haven’t done anything notable to my PC, nor studio. I also uninstalled it, cleared every cache of data I could find related to it, then reinstalled. I have updated all the drivers I can find and rebooted. I also tried in in the Roblox client, and it appears here as well. I’m including the microprofile dump for the studio one as it’s an empty baseplate.

Here’'s my system information:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core Processor (clocking currently at ~5.32 GHz)
  • Memory: 144 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER

Everything else is working fine on my PC - in fact when studio freezes for a second I can move my mouse freely outside of it. The problem seems exclusive to Roblox.

Thank you for your time! Let me know if there’s anything I should try / send to help resolve this!

it seems like the lag for me was caused by a faulty plugin. updating all of them fixed it (it was either packet profiler or terrain tools)

Woke up today, everything is fine again. I don’t know why lol

Just thought I’d follow up - It seems that a part of windows explorer is crashing every couple of seconds, but because the CPU is so fast it recovers fast enough that the rest of the OS more or less continues fine. I’m guessing Roblox depends on some service that’s taking longer to reboot - but this does make it no longer a Roblox bug.
