ROBLOX Client Running Under Microsoft Edge (Windows 11)

System information:
Windows 11, 64-bit
128 GB RAM
RTX 4070 TI 12GB
RTX 4060 TI 8GB
Ryzen 9 5950x

Expected behavior

I expect ROBLOX to run as its own separate task and not under Microsoft Edge.

Could you provide more information? I can’t seem to reproduce this. For example, protocol links (Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Roblox Player, and take a screenshot. Can you also provide the Microsoft Edge version, and Windows 11 OS build (you can find it in Settings > System > About). Thanks in advance!

Might be the cause: A modified ROBLOX client.

Using Bloxstrap I can reproduce the issue. Therefore this might be a issue with Bloxstrap.

The same thing occurs for me. I am unsure if it is a bug though…

For me it will only run under microsoft edge if I joined the game from there, if I open up the roblox app via the windows 11 search bar, it runs separately.

I have this issue as well but I do not use bloxstrap. I’ve made this exact bug report a few days ago:

I hope they ship a fix soon. I’ve been bugged out with no workarounds for months :frowning_with_open_mouth: (I even went the extra mile to reset my entire computer with a clean install of windows!).

Thanks for filing the report. We’re able to reproduce this behavior - but it appears to be working as intended from the perspective of the process parentage when using a website link with a custom protocol handler to a native Windows application. From a process perspective the Roblox application process is in fact a child process of the browser.

We’ll keep this in the backlog to evaluate as we look at improving deeplinks but we do not have plans to address this specifically at this point.
