Roblox Client taking an unnecessarily long time to start up

Reproduction Steps

The issue can be reproduced by joining any game.

System Information: Intel Core i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90Ghz, 16GB, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

Expected Behavior

The Roblox Client should start up within a reasonable amount of time.

Actual Behavior

After the “Starting Roblox” window closes, it takes around 2 minutes for the game to start up.

After it closes, through the Task Manager, I can see that the client is doing something. This goes on for a while.

Eventually after 2-4 minutes the game will finally start up

I have already tried restarting my computer, reinstalling Roblox, and even fully uninstalling Roblox (deleting the Roblox AppData Folder after uninstall, and then reinstalling). Nothing seemed to fix the issue.

I think the impact is high, because if players think that nothing is happening (most people wouldn’t check the task manager like you did), then they just wouldn’t play Roblox because it would appear to be broken. If this bug gets worse, we could potentially see a big dip in the number of active players.

Not sure what to say. Everytime I run Roblox, it starts in seconds, connects to any random game in seconds. Running on Windows 7, wonder if it is OS version related?

It doesn’t seem to affect everyone, I haven’t seen anyone mention this issue anywhere else, that’s why I set it to Low. Seems to only affect just me or a really small subset of users.

I think you also forgot to delete the registry key associated with Roblox during this process. Try it again, but this time delete the registry key.

No, this does not happen to me. Since you have an NVIDIA GPU, is it possible that G-Sync could be enabled?

Thank you for your feedback. I’ve just tried uninstalling Roblox, and deleting all the registry keys I could find that Roblox uses. It didn’t work. I don’t think it has something to do with the registry keys though, as I’ve tried installing Roblox on another user account on my PC, and the issue still persists. I’ve turned off GSync too and that still didn’t seem to make the issue go away either.

As of the latest Roblox update, this seems to be fixed!
