Roblox Copyright

Hello,

I wanted to know if Roblox themselves already copyright (or whatever) my work as soon as I upload it or if I need to manually do that.

I don’t expect my game to be a hit, but I don’t want some greedy people to abuse my ideas/work for their own good. I’m aware that copyright can be bypassed via parodies and documentations, but like the case of where they make plushies and some kind of merch or other products they are intending on selling.

Yes, in Roblox’s Terms of Use anything you upload to Roblox is “owned” by Roblox.

Here is a similar question from another person, that was answered before.

To clarify though towards your question of copyright, you do own your own Intellectual Property of whatever you’re making

This is not legal advice, you can review the Roblox terms of service for the specifics at https://en.help.roblox.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004647846-Roblox-Terms-of-Use, specifically Section 2 - Intellectual Property.

When you upload content to the Roblox you maintain your IP ownership of the UGC, however you grant Roblox a license to operate the service.

But this theoreticly implies that only Roblox and I are allowed to use my creations, right?

Yes, You are the Copyright owner still. If someone were to steal your content you can perform an DMCA Takedown.
