Roblox crashes on startup, website or desktop shortcut

Roblox crashes whenever I attempt to play a game through the desktop shortcut or through the website. The windows version on the microsoft store also does not work.

Began: Last year.
Last Happened: Less then 5 minutes ago.

This is happening to me too, on Windows 11 Insider Preview (Build 26040.1000). Windows Store version doesn’t even work.

Roblox is not compatible with Windows Insider versions, and they aren’t offering support for it.

Same. This happens to me when after installing Windows Canary build (26052.1000).

Are there any updates on the matter? I am unable to properly play-test my games with other people due to this issue.

windows gave me an update that reset all my drivers but kept my files and it fixed it

Help, same problem! Windows 11 10.0.26052.1100

Same problem Windows 11 10.0.26052 build 26052, I was previously a member of insider and after this bugged my RobloxPlayerLauncher I opted out and reset my pc entirely. My issue still persists I don’t know what to do anymore.

I’m still having this issue, I can’t open RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe without it crashing before it starts up. I don’t know if anyone else is still having this issue but I certainly am. The lack of communication is kind of frustrating to me. The only positive thing about this bug, is that I can still open RobloxStudio so I’m able to work on my games. I just can’t play them.

I’ve tried the following:

  • clean reinstall of roblox
  • factory reset
  • restarting pc

Confirmed tried to revert to Windows 10 through another post, and it says I can’t do that now since I have Windows 11 installed. This is mildly irritating since nobody is informing me of the situation either. I can’t play the games I’m working on and I need to be able to keep my community active in my own game.

so, an update, roblox just updated for me and it works now.
