ROBLOX forums needs improvements

https://forum.roblox.com/forum/

There’s many ‘rude’ or ‘unhelpful’ people lurking there. Some just troll you. There’s a small chance you get the answer you need there, which is a bummer for those who can’t access the devforums yet. It’d be really appreciated if this forum would be checked often by moderators so that they can delete the messages of, or even ban, those who break rules in the forums. (Not sure if this is already done)

A revamp in that forum would be nice too! Currently you can’t edit posts, and things like markup or HTML are not possible, as opposed to the devforums. This could really stimulate young- or new people to hit the development button!

What are your opinions on this?

A revamp is something ROBLOX wants to do, but prioritizes other things.

Makes sense!

Also, moderators do try and ban users, but given the huge scope of the forum, its not a very practical task right now.

That’s very true!
I just wanted to make sure ROBLOX was aware

There is always a solution to be found :stuck_out_tongue:
Perhaps some sort of reputation (BC members can +1 rep if you are helpful, and -1 if you are not) where a low rep can mean that your posts go lower on the sort?

Welcome to botting heaven.
Anyways, I said its not practical “Right now” meaning it should be more practical when ROBLOX decides to revamp the forums and sets a clear idea on how they want it to operate.

That’s why I said BC members only :stuck_out_tongue:
No intelligent scammer will be able to seriously affect rep without using stolen BC accounts.

Likewise I agree that it isn’t practical right now, however this forum revamp is long overdue.

These kind of features shouldn’t be limited to BC members. We shouldn’t use exclusion like that as a way to stop them.

And how long overdue it is is irrelevant until ROBLOX decides its time to work on it.

I believe @ReeseMcBlox has been toying with the idea on how to update the forums and what actually needs to be changed.

I’m sure she’d be happy to hear your suggestions.

Community-sourced moderation is the only way to improve the forums. Not all-powerful users ROBLOX trusts with moderation (community moderators), but something more along the lines of StackExchange where every user plays a part.

It’s just not feasible for the limited number of staff members to keep something as large as the ROBLOX forums in check – they already have difficulty with a community as small as ours, though Discourse’s community-sourced moderation (user flags) has certainly helped a lot.

I remember when the Roblox Community was much smaller and we had Forum Moderators. Whilst I think that’d be a good solution personally, I don’t see it being feasible or becoming a reality.

Tell them to open a web developer position and I’ll happily do what I can.

afaik they’re hiring interns all the time for the summer and there’s web dev interns.
