There’s many ‘rude’ or ‘unhelpful’ people lurking there. Some just troll you. There’s a small chance you get the answer you need there, which is a bummer for those who can’t access the devforums yet. It’d be really appreciated if this forum would be checked often by moderators so that they can delete the messages of, or even ban, those who break rules in the forums. (Not sure if this is already done)
A revamp in that forum would be nice too! Currently you can’t edit posts, and things like markup or HTML are not possible, as opposed to the devforums. This could really stimulate young- or new people to hit the development button!
There is always a solution to be found
Perhaps some sort of reputation (BC members can +1 rep if you are helpful, and -1 if you are not) where a low rep can mean that your posts go lower on the sort?
Welcome to botting heaven.
Anyways, I said its not practical “Right now” meaning it should be more practical when ROBLOX decides to revamp the forums and sets a clear idea on how they want it to operate.
Community-sourced moderation is the only way to improve the forums. Not all-powerful users ROBLOX trusts with moderation (community moderators), but something more along the lines of StackExchange where every user plays a part.
It’s just not feasible for the limited number of staff members to keep something as large as the ROBLOX forums in check – they already have difficulty with a community as small as ours, though Discourse’s community-sourced moderation (user flags) has certainly helped a lot.
I remember when the Roblox Community was much smaller and we had Forum Moderators. Whilst I think that’d be a good solution personally, I don’t see it being feasible or becoming a reality.
