Roblox FPS & lag(?) issue

For the past few days whenever I join a roblox game, the FPS is really low, fluctuating between 1-3, and the game runs really slow. This has been happening with every game I’ve played and I don’t know what to do as I have already:

  • Reinstalled Roblox & Roblox Studio
  • Cleared the cache
  • Updated drivers

I would appreciate if someone would leave any tips on what else I could do.

What is your ram usage?

Anything you can think of that could have caused it? Software update, programs you installed, etc.

These are screenshots from a smaller game

These are screenshots from a larger game

I also forgot to mention that when I am on studio, after some number of minutes go by, the FPS is normal, however this is only when I am not in any play-testing mode.

I am not sure if this is the same case for the Roblox application though.

Ping is high, try on another internet connection.

I never seen FPS been that low for me before? but ping was always high for me due to region ping, if you join a certain region on Roblox, that ping will skyrocket to 250-300, i dont know why Roblox even have a region ping if you not from that region. So it could be many things you having problems with for FPS and Ping

I’m not sure I understand what ping has to do with the situation, but I tried another connection and it still has low FPS

Probably not, but who knows. It’s the only thing I see that’s ‘off’ in the stats.

Can you show your system ram? 0.6 and 1gb are low numbers. Would be expected numbers for mobile, for pc it’s usually much higher.

How much ram does your pc have, and can you show the total ram usage when running Roblox.

This is while running Roblox.

This is while not running Roblox.

Observing the numbers when not running Roblox, it seems like something else could be hogging the ram? I’m not exactly sure

Yes definitely.
You’re basically at max ram usage all the time. 8gb isn’t that much nowadays, so might be worth it to upgrade to atleast 16.

To debug I would think about apps you recently installed. Anything that could have caused the issue? Software updates?

Last resort would be a system reset.
