(This is my first forum post so I apologize if I make any mistakes)
I’ve noticed whilst playing ROBLOX that my framerate would be much higher in servers where I’m alone or 3 to 4 people compared to a full server like 15 for example where I’d drop as low as to 20 fps. But I swear this wasn’t the case back then to me and I’m not sure if I’m having an issue with my computer or if it’s the same with everybody but I never hear it being talked about by other people.
Should I take this in consideration when I develop a game and limit the server count a lot more for a better experience or is there a fix to my issue I’m dealing with? I understand that ROBLOX has to render every player’s clothing and all of that but I don’t think it should be this severe.
Actually when there are more players they roam here and there which makes roblox to calculate where they will go and their meshes and clothes. More players bad server.
more players will generally results in a more laggy experience
how do i know this and im not just taking it from some random source called “trustme.com”
well i used to play on a garbage 300 dollar laptop is all you need to know (i dont now)
i noticed that my gameplay runs smoother when theres around 5 people in the server while i was playing phantom forces
and this happens consistently
i would get crap in full servers and while the servers drop in numbers i noticed a better gameplay experience overall
and you wanna know how crap that experience in the full server was?
crap as in people are running around teleporting on my screen 10 studs away from where they were before each 10 - 5 frames ran (sometimes worst)
better gamplay experience as in, people are actually running around in 60 fps and not 5 fps
blessed with normal phantom force gameplay
so the improvement in a drop of player count is Great and is not so little you dont have to care about it
I’ve seen the responses and although I haven’t found a solution on how to possibly solve it, I kinda accepted that there wasn’t hope. Although what I find odd is that my computer is a more higher end laptop, around the 800$ range and it’s only a year old. The fact that it’s became worse than your average computer for something as simple as roblox in less than a year sounds too out of the ordinary and I wish I could find some solution, if not having give up and accept giving money for someone to research my computer for issues
