Roblox Group Accusation Scam

Unfortunately, I fell victim to a scam targeting developers via Discord. A user contacted me claiming to be interested in buying my game - They asked to see analytics, sent a contract via DocuSign which turned out to have fake details, and insisted we use a so-called “escrow” Discord server which also turned out to be fake.

After convincing me the payment was in process, they persuaded me to transfer ownership of the Project Birmingham Community Group - Roblox with 🚨 Project Birmingham - Roblox Of course, the payment never arrived. They’ve since sold the game and delete all evidence, but I recorded our whole conversation with 2 hours of screen recording footage with audio.

I’ve attempted to file a DMCA, but Roblox says the assets were “willingly shared”, so they won’t take action. Also they say they cannot force ownership transfer as my account wasn’t compromised. I have currentley archived the entire game including textures & meshes

I’m asking for any advice or help in recovering my game and group — I’ve sent a report to the ‘National Fraud Intelligence Bureau / ActionFraud’ but I doubt they will do anything.

I got like 3 of those offers on my top game in under a month. I think there needs to be some sort of scam awareness because I personally would also fall for this if I didn’t know about it.

“Sounds to good to be true” plays a part here, although many developers have sadly fallen victim to this, including some people with millions of Robux in revenue.

Nothing I can help with, but I’m sending my prayers for you

I have had the exact same offers from them too, asking to buy some good game with good analytics for cheap. Never bought them, however, I never would’ve thought until now that they have been stolen.

If you want to pursue legal action (e.g., filing successful DMCA), I think your best bet is to consult with a lawyer.
