Not true, downloading something from an external page is not safer, it is more likely to download something harmful to the computer.
A malicious plugin from the Marketplace can affect your games, but not your computer
Also, there are people who have the option to “download automatically” or something like that, which doesn’t let you choose where, and you can’t see what you will download before doing it., I mean the extension rbxm.
They mentioned before, you could link a donation page or a place to donate.
That’s not the point, all good work takes time, it’s good that you want to charge for this, but the model of paying in the marketplace when you can get it for free on another page doesn’t seem right to me.
It is basically exposing people to trust external pages.
The best thing would be to place a page/game for donations, or make a free version in the marketplace and another paid version in the same marketplace.
So, again, people are not exposed to trusting external pages
Other than that, all good, still a good plugin if people like it.
A majority of them are studio icons though, and you’ll likely never encounter a time where you’d want to use them in-game so it’s usually not an issue.
Thank you so much for this. I’d pay to get it, but I can’t at the moment. Is it already possible to filter by icons that work in the player and studio? I find it a little difficult when looking for icons, and they are studio only. If it isn’t a feature, is it possible I could expect a filter like that in the future?
Thank you for your feedback! I’ve definitely noticed this recently, and will definitely be including a filter sometime soon!
In the process i also realized the reason it was so hard to tell the two apart is because the studio icon i was using in the corner of each button no longer exists in the studio content folder, so I might just omit studio icons from the plugin all-together, or at least warn of their use in production plugins.
