It’s also Multiplayer! (Was not our intention’s of it being multiplayer, but it works and is fun that way)

Game: ASCEND - Roblox

is there anyone else that failed too?
I didn’t finish it on time too.
Smash clocks, break security boxes to pause time and avoid the guards or you’ll be arrested.
This is my team’s project! We didn’t have time for a thumbnail though.
Mind checking out my game? No? Then click the link.
No trailer cause i was working solo and i didnt get the time to do it, i killed it.
We didn’t make everything in time and haven’t a lot of time, so we called our game as “Time was Our Enemy” and there is one game-breaking bug.
Thank you that I could work with you and I appreciate your hard work: @MCcsfe @Cookisek92
I think the end is broken. IDK what I’m supposed do, but I can’t kill the statue with my sword.

Very difficult, but very fun. Awesome music.
I got to the end bit, I think. The free-fall section. I assume I needed to do something with the dark-gray wall, but idk. I ran out of time and decided to stop playing. Very sonic adventure I think, I like that.

I wish I could skip dialogue on my second playthrough and the prompts shouldn’t take as long imo, but the game has an overall high quality with the cutscenes and aesthetic. I got a not-so great ending, but it was fun.

The camera jitter is too much imo. I know it’s a gamejam game, but you can use Roblox’s Reduced Motion setting: https://create.roblox.com/docs/reference/engine/classes/GuiService#ReducedMotionEnabled.
The visuals are very nice, the font was a good choice, but there could be more sound effects. Maybe some ambient noise in the background. The mouse cursor is visible and I think you can get rid of that or make your own that would fit better. There’s some z-fighting here:
Having a highlight on objects that can be interacted with would help to know what I can/can’t interact with.
After moving around the house, having an objective/task to go to bed would direct players nicely. I wasn’t sure what to do at first:
Having a restart button would be nicer than a kick imo. I also died while being in the closet opposite the beds. I thought I’d be safe there:
I don’t think the game told me to not look at Shy until I already died. There’s a health bar I guess, but I feel there could’ve been more direction for the player. That said, this is a problem in a lot of horror games: having to replay content to get to a spot over and over. I personally don’t like that style of game. I prefer checkpoints along the way.
Also, being able to play with friends or solo is nice.

I feel like the camera is too zoomed in and there can be moments of confusion or frustration with the controls. That said, buying things in the game and progressing is very satisfying. The visuals are amazing. Playing this has been a blast!
Will update if I have anything else to note.
Edit: it’s sad that the game doesn’t save your data. after playing for at least 30 mins, I decided to test if there was data saving.

I was first met with this screen. It’s nice, but having the tutorial separate from the main game treats it as an after-thought or something to be ignored. For future titles, I recommend trying to make a tutorial within the game itself.
As a side note, the text when clicking the Tutorial is very slow. And, there’s no way to skip it. Walls of text aren’t great as tutorials.
There’s nice music. The game is information overload for sure. Watching someone talented at this would be cool also. The diversity in action is awesome and you immediately get the feeling of the game. The ramp up in difficulty is quick. If you want the game to reach a wider audience, I’d make it a slower ramp-up. but, keep that difficulty as-is maybe also. It is a challenge after all. Even though it might not be my go-to, it’s got good sound design, visuals, and it fits the theme.

My first impressions are that the visuals are nice and the cutscenes are nice. I think more could fit that ‘time is your enemy’ theme, but I’m only at the beginning as of writing this.
I get reset whenever I try to go back to the room I spawned in. It got rid of my guns, but they respawned so that’s good. I imagine that’s an oversight. I also got the ‘worked on the game’ badge. When, ya know, I didn’t. lol.
The timer collectibles are nice, but when the timer ran out, I was still playing the game fine. The was stuck at 0, but nothing happened. Amazing gameplay imo. The use of text-to-speech here is nice.
There are minor issues I could also point out. For one, the zombies were able to kill David at one point, then I got his sword, but it just teleports me to the swords position and i’m stuck. The Ghoulants have massive amounts of HP, but the small ones don’t show a health bar. The boss in that first Ghoulants area has just too much HP.
After going through the entire game, my thoughts are that it’s a great game overall, but that it could’ve made more use of that ‘time is your enemy’ theme. The rocket launcher is OP but in a good way.

Loved the trailer. I know it’s something I’ve said about most of these games, but truly, these visuals are amazing! I can read the text, understand what’s going on, and can apprieate the visual style throughout the game (UI, character model, etc.). Gives me A Hat in Time vibes for sure. (DJ and all)
Some moments of the game don’t have background audio, but it’s a gamejam game. Makes sense.
My first go at trying the key quick action thing… very difficult. I’m not one for rhythm games, but I enjoy a challenge and how different this is from many of the games I’ve already played. I do occationally get this warning in the console:
The use of RichText to enhance the humor/reading of things is nice. Trying to skip through lines I’ve already seen though can take some time. So, when I’m bad at rhythm games… yeah. I recorded my successful run and I’m so happy I stuck with it till the end. Amazing game!
I did a really bad job on my game, and I didn’t have enough time to finish, will there be any future challenges I can join?
Had lots of fun working on my game “Like Clockwork” loved the theme this time around. Good luck to everyone’s entries!
