Summary: Roblox Institute of Natural History is a smaller version of my popular game, 'Roblox History Museum’, however it includes a much lower part count in order to encourage more users to play. For comparison, it is currently at 16k at the time of writing this, compared to RHM which has 257k parts.
Objective: I would appreciate feedback on what I could improve, aside from the obvious which is adding more exhibits. I aim to make my games reach a 95% Like/Dislike ratio, however this is not the case, with the game currently residing at an appalling 86%.
The building is quite awesome and I find the realism astonishing! I think this is one of the better builds on Roblox. You should be proud of it!
The animations for animals are nice and the layout of the museum itself is great.
Criticism -
The readability of SurfaceGuis in the game makes it hard to focus on one exhibit if a user is specifically interested in it.
Lighting seems quite sepia; traditionally, users like bright colors. I might look into reworking the lighting to be less dreary and more colorful to catch the eye.
Overall remarks:
The game is quite well-made and with a few basic changes to lighting and readability, the museum itself will have a wonder user experience for visitors. Good luck!
This looks amazing! It’s so realistic (I even noticed the “warning, high voltage” signs in the displays), I love looking around at everything. Sound effects were good, love how it announces before the film starts. The film itself is really cool, I hope you plan to add a variety of them (and perhaps voice acting?).
Two things to note:
The movie theater screen is too dark, some of the pictures are hard to see. Movie screens are made of light so it should be brighter. The text on a few of them was also really small.
Some areas have super dark shadows which makes it hard to see. My friend didn’t even see the gift shop at the entrance.
I don’t know, I kind of like the sepia lighting; it adds a nice atmosphere to the game and makes it feel much more calming and nice and feel like a true museum (especially in gate 2b). I would make it brighter though.
(@op) I really like this place! It’s great to walk around and simply explore all of the prehistoric info this place has to give. Also, the cinema is amazing! Really well animated and very entertaining while still handing you some interesting info.
I’d possibly suggest adding some NPCs roaming around (if possible), and maybe some sort of wall/room with a large timeline containing all of the geological periods (jurassic, mesozoic, etc) with information on when the dinosaurs came to be and when they went exict.
Really love the game, the ambience background noise, the way the audio adapts, the visual art. Loving the interactivity with the exhibits and watching the film
