Just had this bug happen on The Grand Crossing.
Does anybody know if this is a client-side issue or an issue with the actual game? Just so I know if I should report it to the development team or not.
Please refer to the posts on top of your post.
I am (again) having this issue.
Windows 7
Using “Trend Micro Maximum Security” Anti-Virus
I think I used the same software. Go to your windows bar, find the Software icon, right click and click disable.
I should not have to disable my anti-virus to play roblox.
That’s the roadblock that’s preventing you to connecting your Roblox client to the server, if you don’t disable it, there’s no other solutions.
The same error is happening with me. I have tried everything I can think of: My anti-virus is not interfering with roblox. I have no ad-blocker blocking roblox. My internet is fine and doesn’t have any problems. I cleared temporary files. I have restarted nearly everything.
Roblox seems to work on the microsoft version. And the Roblox Player works in my windows 8, virtual machine (a virtual computer if you don’t know what that is.) But the Roblox Player does not work on my current computer.
I have contacted and they told me to try the suggested steps in General Connection Problems . I gave them more information and they told me it was something with my internet, but again, my internet is fine since roblox works on my vm. They keep on responding to my by saying the same thing again, and again in circles by this point.
Often time the devhub seems to have these error codes partially documented weirdly enough.
Error code 268 is listed as DisconnectOnRemoteSysStats which could be what error the packet check gives you. This also seems to be indeed issued by the server.
If you have any programs installed you should try killing them in task manager and see if your problem is fixed. Additionally I’d assume certain motherboards would cause issues (which seems to be the case as listed above) if they interfere with internet.
I contacted Roblox support, it has been 4 days now and they say that they found the solution so they closed my ticket. They told me to restore my computer to the previous point from which I had this issue (when I did not have the issue I think.) I have windows 10, so they told me to go to a link from microsoft if I need help doing this (search up: support microsoft windows-10-recovery-options).
The things you have to do could vary from person to person but for me, I think I might have to reset my computer.
I’m still having this issue, was there ever a fix?
Not really, but you should know that:
And the issue is finally resolved (I think). Roblox player works for me now and I did not do anything to solve the issue, it just works. I guess Roblox did some maintence fixes. For everyone who had the issue before, try reinstalling Roblox one more time and play a game.
I’d like to bump this thread. Has been happening to me recently while using a VPN.
This issue seems to be an unintentional IP-based rate limit that is triggered when you join too many games in a short amount of time. It is very annoying and hopefully it can be resolved soon.
If you get this issue still, try redownloading Roblox. That is how I fixed this when I got that error message.
I’d like to bump this thread too. I’ve tried disabling my anti-virus, reinstalling roblox, changing my DNS, resetting my router, deleting all my files in %temp% but no luck. I’ve even tried allowing the roblox client through my firewall.
Edit; After a few hours, I relaunched to check up on it and it works now.
Running into this issue as well. Uninstalling did not work for me and I am not using a VPN. This occurs in all games, similarly to OP.
Marked as solved – file a new bug report for new issues.
