Roblox Limited Items

Roblox should go through some of the old classic items no longer available, but highly desirable, and make them limited. For example, Workclock shades/Headphones, and the other colors that are out there, along with some other items like the Bucket hats that are around.

This would spice up the trading community of Roblox more regularly put things up as a Limited item to bring back some of the older stuff.

Not to mention all the copied limited items that Roblox is struggling to keep up with Moderating.

“Over the past 10 years, we’ve been regularly making Roblox-created Limiteds. With the announcement of opening up Limiteds to the community, we no longer plan to publish Roblox-created Limited items on a regular basis as we always strive to be a platform that serves the community; this means creators will not have to compete with new Roblox-created Limiteds and more earnings go to the community.” -Roblox

Additionally, I think some classic items deserve to stay with old accounts. In the description of the Workclock items, it says “They are not for noobs…”

They should make Roblox’s items just categorized under “CLASSIC” category or something or perhaps a new rarity than just mere owned by Roblox or either Limited.

Festive Winter Shades should be a limited item. I’ve been wanting that for a while.

I understand if Roblox wants to hold off on making their off-sale catalog limited for now (due to the focus on UGC items at the moment), but I’d love to see this come back someday. It was very exciting being able to finally look forward to new limiteds for the trading community, and it was nice because owners of these items can finally release their copies to anyone who wishes to buy or trade for them.

Off-sales do hold historical value, since it’s a sort of ‘you had to be there’ idea, so I agree some very special items shouldn’t ever be made limited, but most of the community enjoyed these items going limited like Bighead. Why not BiggerHead? Having these items off-sale further increases the demand to create rip-offs of these items since there’s no way to get them yourself anymore since Roblox no longer hosts sales, so off-sales are practically left to die.

Rant about Eggs

Roblox had a very diverse way of making items limited. Some were highly demanded, many were rares & semi-rares, and long forgotten items that finally had more light shined on them. Included in these was turning old eggs from Roblox’s official egg hunts into limiteds. You can no longer hop into the games yourself and collect the eggs, but with them making them limited, it became possible to collect eggs from our favorite egg hunts and events!

This is especially important to me since I’ve participated in egg hunts since 2013, and I had an old account that got banned, and I lost my egg collection of a few years, including ones I loved a lot. Roblox put many of these on-sale, including the rarest eggs like Agate, Arborist, and Hivemind, and the demand for them was shown with their impressive 50K-500K sales on the first day.

Unfortunately, when Roblox stopped making items limited, this included eggs. There are several years still missing, including items such as Hatched Eggs & Studio Eggs from 2013, all of the Eggvertisements, Egg of Destiny from 2014, and the Stooge Egg from 2012. There was surprisingly a lot of hype around Egg of Destiny for an egg considering its sparkles.

Please support my egg collecting addiction.

There are loads of items that are just waiting to become limited, and there’s demand for them. White Gold Wings, Bluesteel Antlers, Workclock Shades & Headphones, Bluesteel Horns of PWNage, Deadly Dark Dominus, Headstack, Epic Face, BC Hard Hat. There’s also many items from series which haven’t been released, including the Sinister Pumpkins, Antler Pumpkins, Buckets, Valkyrie Helms, Party Queens, Tix Items, Tentacles, Clockworks (Heartphones, Materials, Red), GoldLikas, Rings of Olypmia, Sparkle Times, Shaggys, Traffic Cones, Teapots. The list goes on.

this means creators will not have to compete with new Roblox-created Limiteds and more earnings go to the community.

Alternatively, if you translate from corporatespeak, this means that Roblox benefits from the fees they get off new limited items without having to dedicate any resources to making those items themselves. The benefit to the community is just a bonus to them

I just wish to state that I am highly against this being done for any items which were manually awarded. Such items generally hold sentimental value to at least some of their owners and making the item limited is a major slap in the face to their owners.
