Roblox not starting in PCVR (Meta Quest Link) despite having the vr option being on, and the link aplication open

I was trying to launch Roblox experiences in VR on my PC, only for it not to work.

The option shows up as being turned on, and it’s not launching into a VR experience.
I’ve tried with steam vr as well, and it still does not seem to work.

Expected behavior

Normally, the app would launch as a vr experience, but it’s launching as if vr’s not connected at all.
As stated above, neither steam vr NOR meta quest link seem to work currently.

thank you so much !!
i’ve tried playing roblox vr via the standalone app and it’s TERRIBLE on the quest 2, in my opinion

Yup, only works in studio for me if i press test then stop then test again, from then on it works normally in studio. doesnt work in Virtual desktop using its OpenXR either, this is making it difficult to test the multiplayer on my game bc the not very good standalone app (even on quest 3)

bump. roblox PCVR been broken for about 2 weeks already I’m surprised hardly anyone is talking about it.

and I normally use virtual desktop on quest 3 to play roblox instead using standalone quest version.

I seen someone talk about on communication server how to fix the roblox pcvr issue. you need to turn off “compatibility layer for oculusXR plugin” within steamVR setting and here’s how

this is on desktop not in steam vr itself

  1. open steam vr and click on the hamburger menu and click setting

  2. click on openXR and open manage openxr api layers

  3. turn off compatibility layer for oculusXR plugin

after it’s turn off it’s should be able to detect and start roblox in pcvr.
I try and it work on virtual desktop streamer and quest air link.

Is there an update on this, by chance?

So far it seems like OculusXR is not being initialized or is incompatible, given that the workaround above reveals that SteamVR alone (without the compatibility layer) works just fine- albeit the game client now crashes when you try to switch experiences.

Edit: didnt mean to reply individually, sorry

Thanks! This worked for me. I don’t know why it’s doing that. I had this issue before and I could never figure it out. Glad to see I’m not going bonkers and it is just a roblox issue.

this actually worked for me, thank you so much!, sorry for the late response, life was throwing me SO many curveballs
