I have recently been experiencing strange issues with the Roblox Player/Launcher, and Roblox Studio. This as been happening for about a week now.
When trying to join a game from the Roblox website, the Roblox player either never opens, or takes an extremely long time to open, then will hang/freeze on a white or grey/black screen.
The Roblox Player is using ‘an’ amount of CPU while in this state (around 10-20%, and can spike upwards of 30%), indicating it is trying to load, but either never does or freezes on the white screen. (Image attached, It show the Roblox Player (Game Client) inside of Google Chrome.)
Furthermore, it exhibits the same behaviour when trying to launch it stand alone. (When the Roblox Player is not inside of Google Chrome). And Roblox Studio has started doing the same thing.
I have tried doing a clean reinstall of Roblox but this issue still persists. As well as this, I have also tried only having Roblox open in case it was conflicting with another app. My internet speeds at the time of testing was 50 down, 10 up, so that shouldn’t be the issue.
(As I was writing this I managed to get the player to load, it took around 30 minutes to load, then put me in a game)
If anyone has any ideas to sort this out please let me know!
Thanks all!
Hello… if your screen is white on roblox or not loading any games the problem is your compablity or you installed an malware to remove that if you have any malwares if dont and still not loading and still white screen you may have to reinstall roblox player in case.
Thank you the reply.
But as mentioned in my post I have reinstalled the Roblox Launcher and Roblox Studio and this did not fix the issue for the Roblox Launcher.
However after one of the last updates Roblox Studio is behaving as expected now.
There is also no malware/viruses/unwanted software on my computer.
I’m starting to think it may be a hardware compatibility issue, as my system is starting age.
Relevant specs below:
CPU: Intel Pentium G4560
GPU: GTX 1650 (factory overclocked)
RAM: 16GBs of DDR4 running at 2400MHz
(Roblox Launcher is located on an SSD)
If anyone has some updated info or any known causes please let me know
Thanks again!
My cpu was chugging for some reason and it started just yesterday and I checked task manager and chrome was using up 90% of my cpu usage. For some reason there were like 10 instances of “Roblox game client” running under chrome using up 10% cpu each?? What is Roblox game client running on my chrome?? I killed all the tasks and none of my chrome tabs were deleted (so it has nothing to do with my tabs roblox was somehow running on chrome in the background???) I have no clue what this is, I didn’t even have roblox game client open, and I have no idea why there were 10 instances. Is Roblox using my computer in particular as a datacenter or something??
I’m pretty sure the Roblox client in Chrome is part of the launcher, the actually launches the main ‘game’ that’s downloaded on your computer. (I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s what it is / how it works.) That’s the little white rectangle window with the loading bar that comes up when clicking “play” on the website, and loads the game and stuff.
I have no clue why it would have 10 instances open, maybe there might be an issue with the last update? And it not properly closing the last instance (Just a stab in the dark, I’m not 100% sure). However I haven’t noticed it.
How often do you fully shut down or restart your computer/laptop? (As putting it to sleep/closing the lid doesn’t shut it down) Maybe they are building up over days or weeks without being fully shut down.
And regarding your last point, there is no way Roblox could get away with using users devices as part of any datacenter, and it wouldn’t make scene processing power/efficiency wise.
I have no idea what it was doing but it probably had to do with the last update. I haven’t had the problem since I closed those random roblox tasks under chrome, and when I enter a Roblox game now, it has its own instance in task manager (not under chrome).
