Roblox Player Not Launching

Hello all,

Starting on the 27th of April, I have been having some trouble getting the Roblox player to work properly, to the point where I am unable to play any game on Roblox with my Windows 10 machine.

Here is a video demonstration of what happens. No matter how long I wait after the “Starting Roblox” window has closed, the game never opens.

This is the first time an issue like this has happened to me in my many years of playing Roblox. I tested Roblox on one of my other accounts on my Linux machine (running with Grapejuice/Wine) and it seems to work just fine, so it seems to be this account and/or a Windows problem.

(EDIT: I did test with my main account on Linux and that worked just fine, so it isn’t even that my main account has an issue. However, with client version 0.574, Linux compatability was borked and so I can’t play at all anymore; I tested all of my other Windows machines as well and they are all afflicted with this issue. It does seem however that Macs are unaffected, as my brother can still play just fine on his Mac.)

I have tried all of the common fixes that various websites (and Roblox) offer from restarting my computer to reinstalling Roblox, and none of them have worked thus far. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the new client Roblox is rolling out, since I don’t know which if any of my accounts has it.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Same here, Ive tried everything, nothing works… You can download the Roblox from Microsoft, that would work, But you cant use VC / VR

Yeah, I suspect that would work. It’s not worth it to me though, since that app in my experience is much slower than the website and last I checked it’s not compatable with an FPS unlocker.

Just want to post an update here.

I tried Roblox from the Windows store, and that seemed to work just fine (though the client has a bunch of wierd quirks/bugs that hinders its functionallity significantly in addition to the already mentioned features that it cannot use).

Thankfully, I don’t have to use it anymore since the most recent client seems to have fixed Roblox for me. I’m disapointed that the solution isn’t something that a user can do themselves to get the client working and is instead dependent on Roblox being competent, but that’s where we’re at.

(EDIT: Roblox updated again and broke itself again)

(EDIT 2: Roblox updated again and fixed itself, let’s see how long this will last)
