Roblox Player Won't Install & Open

Hello Developers!

I have came across a big bug/glitch that prevents me from opening roblox. I tried many youtube tutorials, alot of tutorials said to re-install my roblox player, so i did exactly that. After some installing and uninstalling, it suddenly stopped downloading at apx. 40%. From now on, i can’t install roblox and i can only play it on microsoft version.

Is this an issue for me?

For some people it might not be, but for me, its living hell. I am constantly getting 30 FPS (Frames per second) because of FPS cap on microsoft. I am used to just browse roblox on my chrome browser and play certain games from there, with 200+ FPS.

What solutions did i try?

Basically everything possible:

  • Deleted (potential) corrupted roblox files,
  • Re-installed roblox many times,
  • Reset my router.

Any help would be needed, Thanks and good luck scripting!

I have the same problem here, occasionally it “opens” ROBLOX but immedietly closes, it seems to just crash.

I hope this gets fixed because it is annoying. We will have to wait and see.

When you look on your home screen, do you see roblox studio?

Roblox Studio works just fine, roblox player its what isn’t working.

Try going into the folder’s location from your home screen and click “versions”, and run the launcher.

Step 1:
C:\Users\ YOURPCNAME \AppData\Local\Roblox
Delete this folder completely. You’ll have to reinstall both Roblox Studio, and Roblox Player.
To be sure it’s all deleted go into “Add or Remove Programs” and make sure Roblox Studio and Roblox Player are both gone.
After you uninstall this, delete any and all shortcuts to roblox studio/roblox player.

Step 2:
chrome://settings/clearBrowserData?search=cache
This will take you to Chrome’s settings where you’ll be able to delete the browser cache.
Delete the Cookies, and Other Site Data as well as your Cached Images and Files.

Step 3:
Open Command Prompt as administrator and enter the following command: ipconfig /flushdns
This will flush your DNS, why do this?

DNS results are cached in order to speed up subsequent requests to the same website or service without needing to perform an additional DNS lookup. Sometimes old results will be cached for a long period of time and your device will continue to try communicating with the IP address of the old result even though they may have since been changed, this can often result in you not being able to access a website, game server, or other online service as you would expect.

After doing all of this, don’t try to download Roblox Studio or Roblox Player. Restart your system, and then give it a try.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, nothing worked sadly…

Fixed it! I had to factory reset my pc sadly.

I have found a solution that worked for me twice now. So basically press Windows + R to get the application “Run” then type in %localappdata% then press enter or “OK”. Now search for the “Roblox” file in that folder, open it and then search for the folder “Versions” then press the most recently changed version folder. It will be named something like: “version-6f0b02756d914e3e” Open that folder, then look for the exe file called: “RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe” and run it. Then it will install and say you can press play, then you have fixed it

Yes, however, it didn’t work before i factory reseted my pc because, i didn’t have roblox installed, but if you have roblox installed its 99% guarranted it will work.
