Roblox Psychedelic Visual Effects (Showcase)

RobloxGif

All advice is appreciated! Im a C Programmer coming to roblox studio, so this is an attempt to get around the fact roblox doesn’t allow shaders.

Is there any other type of tricks that I could implement?

Play the game here:

Is this mostly bloom and a high exposure?

I suggest you play the game and see for yourself. The gif doesn’t do it much justice

I believe it’s a mixture of that and parts that circle the player and change properties like transparency and whatever else.

Also, I recently coded drinking and getting drunk as hell in a game. Love substances on roblox. One of my early scripting experiments was smoking weed which came with some cool camera effects

Leave as soon as you can. This is the worst time for you to come here. You are better off forking the old 2016 engine and owning what you create rather than kneeling to corporate overlords who have no clue what’s actually going on in their platform.
That, and the Freedom Distribution.

They’ll send automated bots after your game and ban you at a moments notice. Beware.

Sounds sick. Would love to see your weed game.

The engine is fun and lightweight. I don’t plan to use it as a commerce opportunity, but if i were too i would take this advice.

It’s quite old and roblox updates seems to have broken the weed place, but here’s a look at my alcohol thingy lol

Lol nice. This would be a cool addition to a open world game.

It would be interesting to me as well to use my hallucinogenic vfx in a survival game with mushrooms

Looks really similar to being on shrooms imo

I think some FOV manipulation would do you some good.

Don’t come to roblox.‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎You’ll regret this.

I Actually did implement this!

I dont understand your message

I think he is referring to not only the inferior game engine/development software but also the state of the Roblox developer community.

Tis’s very silly idea indeed. For ye to accomplish such genius effect in small amount of time. I’m sure you can play with ColorCorrection and cranking it up beyond the slider’s limit with really high numbers.
Sorry for replying a month late lulz wherhehahar

I think i have an understanding how this works,

  • A forcefield part overlaying the camera with some kind of texture
  • a constant tween of the exposure and brightness
  • a tween of fov, but a slight one
  • maybe a color tween (looks like it became a little grayish as the brightness went up)
  • camera tilt to lean with the turning
