Introduction

Hello all! I’ve been a scripter on Roblox for about 2 years now, and I’ve enjoyed my experience quite a bit. My solo creations have been meh since I can’t really model and stuff, but I’ve learnt a lot. One of my biggest gripes with Roblox, however, was searchability. You can’t really find games by genre or play-style (the search bar can work for genre but this site aims to provide more customization and filter options), and while I’m not blaming Roblox for my poor performance (my games were just okay), it led to an idea.

I created this website with the idea of exploration. The premise is you’re able to search for games, filter games by genre, & filter by playstyle. You can choose 1 or all filters, up to you. You get a list of games matching your searches and can visit the games through their individual “play on roblox” buttons located on each game card. I made this website to help people find more games since I myself get tired of having to search online to find new games. I know there are videos but there are only so many and lots of them become repeats of “underrated” games (in my experience). The website has about 240 games in the database and I’ll continually add more every few days.

Why I’m Posting Here

Although I guess this is self promotion, I’m primarily looking for feedback for how this website could be improved to grow the Roblox community. Do you like the color scheme? Does the site look appealing? Is it easy to follow? Most importantly could you see yourself using the site? I get no monetary gain out of this project, right now it’s out of passion. This is subject to changes since I’m broke but for now I’d like to get feedback. What do you all think?

Conclusion

I apologize if this is against T.O.S, I couldn’t really find it so this might just be a shot in the dark. Please give me some insightful feedback (plz don’t just hate, if you dislike it at least provide some improvement suggestions, again I’m doing this to help others). This is great that you managed to implement! I still can’t believe how terribly roblox search is or at recommending actually well made good games without having to find them by chance.

Some suggestions for the site.

  • When you load the page provide a tile based showcase of recommend games.
  • Allow you to find similar based games by inputting the url of the roblox game.

My feedback:

  • I dislike the animation upon opening the site, I’d appreciate it if you could skip it by scrolling or just remove it entirely.
  • The thought of just picking options is a little bit daunting, maybe separate it into multiple sections where you can only view one at a time, the thought of inputting all 3 is just kind of scary, if you know what I mean.
  • The API appears to be completely broken for me, failing to give responses no matter what I input, even the example options provided.
  • Show a bit more, like how many games you have in the database etc. so users actually have a clue as to what they’ll receive and such.
  • With all due respect, the frontend looks like AI slop. The awkward gradient in the background with the rounded white panel in the middle and the unnecessary emojis and animations just don’t feel right or natural.
  • The mention of sponsors on the website in the future mentioned on the future updates page just seems like an awful idea, making it just as bad as the normal roblox recommendation system.
  • Locking curated lists behind a paywall feels unfair, no matter how small and to make such a simple website have ads on it also seems unfair and a bad idea.

Gotta understand this is all my opinion though and no one would blame you for disagreeing, just giving my feedback.
