So in October of 2021, I received a roblox right to erasure request about an id in two games, and I didn’t know what to do since those games used free model datastores to save data and I have no idea how to get it, so the message has been ignored since. However I just remembered about it and I am scared that there might be action taken on my account. Is this true or not? I don’t know what happens and I don’t know how to remove the datastore as I cannot script that well.
You should be free of punishment from what I know.
If you don’t know how to remove their data it should be fine.
It’s just that removing their data would be respecting their privacy.
Unless you have a profile type system I doubt there is any data stored that they would even care about really :p
It’s not just that removing their data would be respecting their privacy. You are obligated to so.
I highly recommend getting to know the right to be forgotten.
It usually isn’t that difficult to remove player data, especially when we’re talking low numbers such as in op’s case.
What I was saying is that I don’t think its required from a punishment perspective
As in I don’t think they are going to get banned for it.
I meant that if they figure it out and do end up removing it, then it would be good for respecting their privacy
You should definitely attempt to follow through on it, as this is technically a “legal matter”. While I don’t believe you have any risk of getting punished for not doing so, you should definitely do so anyways.
Usually it is very easy to delete any identifiable information. Check how the datastores store information, if it is with user_id then you can just save nil
to that slot and you are done. If you don’t have any identifiable information, then there’s nothing for you to do.
i dont even know how since the games i have open are like free modelled script games because I didn’t have much experience back then and that game got popular for no reason. It uses some free model data saver script
