hey there guy weren’t you just talking about how roblox should remove x links? what made you change your tune?
damn son stop making me accidentally necropost i know this forum is dead but come on
My opinion has been fairly consistent; X is at best no worse than Bluesky, and at worst much worse than Bluesky. At the very least, Bluesky should be considered a valid option, and potentially replace X, pending more time to see if Bluesky remains a valid/safe competitor
Better option is to just have both. Let it be up to users/developers which they prefer more and not try to arbitrarily decide for them which social platforms are “good/safe for them”.
This issue can be mitigated if Roblox automatically resolves the handle in the provided profile URL to their DID at the time of setting the social link. Since the DID is a more permanent link to the intended profile.
I agree, I definitely came on a bit strong in my initial post asserting X should be removed.
It’s a garbage fire, but I guess bluesky is simply not a perfect replacement no matter how much I personally dislike X.

This is interesting, and sounds like a great way to do that. The biggest problem with Bluesky so far has definitely been the custom domain names people use, if roblox could manage to do something like this hopefully it could help resolve some of those worries.
This would be an extremely rare case as it may erase the platform’s status quo of being “unbiased.” How the decentralization works exactly:
- You choose a hosting service
- bsky.social
– Your data is stored on Bluesky’s server. They manage it. This means it could be deleted anytime as it is accessible to them. - Self-hosting
– Great choice (if you have the money). Bluesky PDS is an OSS and the setup is easy to work with. You can invite your friends to your server and restrict their speech. Users (by DID) may be banned from Bluesky, but the data and files may not be deleted as it is not their server. This makes it easy to re-upload harmful things which is great!
DID is FWIR a system of hashing kind of like Bitcoin used on both service (whether by Bluesky or self-service).
bsky.app is like Google•Twitter. It’s a platform which PDSes could ping and bsky.app on the server side will make it known and index it.
The point lies in the timeline and the userbase. Twitter’s userbase first started out as fandoms, economic, anything non-political you can think of, and just users who wanted to get the words out from their lives. However, it has become clear that text-based platforms like Twitter over the years attracts politics as its system is likely more to accommodate rhetorics.
Bluesky has seen a major spike in popularity following the recent years, but most of them are due to concerns of right-wing rhetorics overtaking the platform and training AI arts which speaks loudly of the population it attracts.
Roblox is a major user on Twitter, and their website has already embedded Twitter, so removing Twitter would be less likely of a choice. Bluesky could still be added, but mind you the addition would be for more political purpose rather than actually the platform of sharing good news itself.
Good thing is that I fw Bluesky, because it’s based on decentralization and being able to host your own server AT Protocol or the *Personal Data Server” which is real nice.
A score for Bluesky to favor you: you ARE the one choosing what you would like to see. There are such things as user-generated moderations, feeds, etc. You do not have to rely on Bluesky all the time.
Remember the iconic light-up motorbike gear on Roblox? The creator of the model is apparently utilizing the platform.
Après original, Bluesky can be a great addition to game studios as the handles are based on the PDS’s domain OR the user’s configurations of the DNS where Bluesky could verify that the user is authorized to use the domain which serves as credibility and the state of being official rather than checkmarks.
Exempli gratia, Roblox can use the handle @roblox.com as they have access to the domain, @ohs.natpat.cc, because OHS could be authorized, @house.gov, et cetera. @[username].bsky.social serves as the common user.

If by “Speaks loudly to the population it attracts” you mean, speaks to the relatively normal people with relatively normal viewpoints, then… sure.
Bluesky could still be added, but mind you the addition would be for more political purpose rather than actually the platform of sharing good news itself.
Now you’re just not making much sense. I do not believe anyone on roblox would be using it for “political purpose”.
Your points would stand very strong, but it feels like you’re shoehorning the politics into this.
No, it does. I never thought it would come to the point that you would be questioning the validity of my statements. Something that makes sense is something that’s valid. Something that’s valid is something that could be connected. The reason why politics has something to do with this is because politics are “controversial” even if arguments are healthy to social development. Considering Bluesky’s current state and the reason for its popularity (rather than the platform identity as decentralized and creative expression), it’s very… not to say hard decision to make, but it doesn’t seem to fit quite well for now.
Regarding your hinting concerns for my perspectives, I come from both sides and I understand that the population on both platforms are “relatively normal people with relatively normal viewpoints” since both sides shares the same critical flaw. When I say the population, I mean that I witnessed my friends on THAT side, the former Twitter users, etc. It is true, because what else is there for it to go viral without a purpose? If you take it rather as a rough estimation in my perspective and that it’s not true at all, then consider this:
VALID ~= TRUE
My points still stands very strong, and politic is an unavoidable topic when it comes to text-based platforms like Twitter and Bluesky which accommodates badly aged rhetorics.
This is the best idea in the whole post.
Even regardless of the whole political thing, neither are exactly the safest platforms.
The reason Twitter is linked there is for posts regarding the game. What’s going on inside Twitter is not our problem nor Roblox’s, the only reason Roblox should block a Twitter page from Roblox is when they say things for the sake of it. Discord is also fine since it is for the studio/games server. Roblox should not directly link profiles, but servers are ok unless it is a server with mature content.
Not only that ,I’ve wanted Roblox allows Threads ,so users would have more Roblox content spread in new viral social media
Nope please , Umm… these social media Odysee and Bitchute are unknown for the most in the world
A post buried in sea of interesting… uninteresting thoughts I have not come across!
These are the first things that pops up when you search Odysee on Bing.
It’s clear the huge traffic is interested are rather interested in one of them which is politics! This represents the community itself.
Bitchute sounded familiar… something that would come off from average larp avatars on Rate My Avatar or Rochurch associates. I searched it up and it immediately defines:
Before you say,
Wikipedia is bad!!
Wikipedia is literally a summary of cited sources… and Wikipedia is irrelevant, but just in case anyone tries to play that card.
I don’t think Roblox want to add worse YouTube alternatives.
Discord SHOULD BE ALLOWED how would i connect with my community without it??
Personally i would go for a others choice, however when selecting a link in others it will require a moderator review before beeing put in profiles or groups.
This is a thread clearly meant to push political viewpoints rather than genuinely resolving a potential issue. If there were a true concern about the content being shown to a young Roblox audience then you would be against all of the current available external links, including the potential addition of BlueSky.
I do agree with you though that Roblox needs to be more responsible for user safety even if it is off-platform, because they are still being directed there from Roblox itself. With that being said, I think it could potentially be a good idea for Roblox to remove all external links from the view of users under 13, and only allow Guilded (which they own) for users 13-17. Once a user is 18+, they can then see every link that is currently available for view today. If BlueSky gains a little more popularity, I think many people (myself included) would be open to seeing that added as an option as well.
Well I replied to this but apparently replying directly to a reply that is directly replying to the topic, of which I made, is “Offtopic” by roblox so they removed it.
The TL;DR is you’re unfortunately wrong, no political viewpoint is pushed in this thread, and feeling as though one is might be a sign of your own political viewpoint pushing more than mine.
A small quote from the original reply;
… a platform of which the owner pushes deeply concerning things, including spam, crypto schemes, aggressive AI usage, and a high influx of scam advertisements since most advertisers left them.
There is a lot about X, unrelated to political viewpoints, that cause it to be highly concerning.
Any reference to political viewpoints stem from these other flaws, in the end.
I remember briefly viewing your other reply but I think I was in class or something at the time so I don’t remember much of what was said. I certainly did not report it and would not report a post for that reason as I generally enjoy seeing what people have to say even if I don’t “like” it, but I guess someone else did not see it that way.
By seeing what you wrote in your “TL;DR” though, I can see there is no good reason to engage in further dialogue about the political content if things are going to be flipped around and pretended as if I am the one making an already political thread, political.
I do hope there are some certain restrictions made for the sake of child safety, regarding ALL of the current available social platforms for users under 18, as highlighted in my previous reply. Best of luck with this feature request.
