I keep updating my game, B.A.I.R.E, and every single time, when i shutdown, boom. I can no longer enter after I get kicked.
Also, Whenever I join the game within around 10 seconds after the shutdown, I get an error saying i have the wrong version of roblox.
Expected behavior
I want the game to shutdown, as usual, but not error in studio then kick me for good.
I also expect to join and find my usual 20 players.
Hi @Rhodizites! Thanks for your message, and apologies for the super late reply. I hear you on the Roblox shutdown pain. Since last year when you made this post, we actually made a bunch of improvements to the way devs do shutdowns and experience updates. Have you seen this post?
To address some of your pain points directly:
I can no longer enter after I get kicked.
Servers that are enqueued for shut down are marked as “bleedoff”. This means that players will no longer be able to be matchmade to those servers (however you can still follow a friend into them).
Whenever I join the game within around 10 seconds after the shutdown, I get an error saying i have the wrong version of roblox.
This behavior should have been patched by some of our improvements over the past year.
I also expect to join and find my usual 20 players.
When a server is enqueued for shut down, the players in that server are reserved into a replacement one. When that replacement server is ready (sometimes it can take a moment to start up), players will be automatically teleported to that new server.
Hope this clears up some of the confusion surrounding game updates. Please take a look at that DevForum post I linked above and feel free to ask more questions!
