Roblox silently filtering library results leading to a huge range of public library assets unfindable

Reproduction Steps
(Studio is also affected)

  • User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/93.0.4577.63 Safari/537.36 Edg/93.0.961.38
  • Platform Type: PC
  • Device Type: Computer

Repro:

  1. Visit the Develop Library
  2. Go to Sounds
  3. Search the term Swing or Slash
  4. You will receive no results

To prove that items exist with these words:

  1. Visit the Develop Library
  2. Go to Sounds
  3. Search the term Jailbreak Slash (??)
  4. You will receive masses of results, including the word Slash which should have appeared in the first search

Expected Behavior
The words should be searchable individually, not just when paired with filler words. I know many of these were searchable before, and words like Click still work fine. So my guess is that there is a filter being applied, as “Swing” and “Slash” both have a small potential for moderation.

Actual Behavior

Here is the same word showing up:

Workaround
Adding a word to the start or end of the search term seems to work

I’ve been getting this odd issue too, I was recently working on a game and needed some sounds so I searched “Wind” and got no results, so I searched “Snow” and also got no results, yet these words appear in titles with multiple words.

From my experience this is happening mostly with words/phrases that would usually be caught in the <13 chat filter, I’m wondering if in the process of disabling the filter for local searches someone messed up and disabled the output by mistake.

sorry for bumping this. This was fixed last year so I’m going to close this out.
