Roblox Staff Stream: Intro to Blender Modeling

Hey Creators!

We have a new Roblox Staff stream coming up on Tuesday August 6 at 3pm: Intro to Modeling in Blender! Principal Environment Artist @SCHLEEMPH will be showing you the ropes on how to get started modeling in Blender.

Ever wondered how to model something specific? Most of the stream will be a live Q&A with @SCHLEEMPH modeling and demonstrating chat requests!

You can catch it live here! If you miss it, there’ll be a VOD you can watch on our Youtube Channel.

Hope to see you there! In the meantime, feel free to check out our other tutorials and videos.

Its awesome that you guys (Roblox) are doing more video resources and tutorials, I stumbled appon them while looking at the dev hub and or on Youtube one day. Had no idea they were a thing until then.

I watched one about intro to world building, I enjoyed the format more then one person talking etc. I definitely need to dive more into the channel and watch the rest of the stuff.

I’ll definitely tune in to this, been struggling a bit myself. Chracters, guns, etc. Uv unwrapping, rigging, and texturing have also been a nightmare. (Seriously, how do you make good textures in blender?? The tools are super primitive)

You should explore blender noise textures on youtube. You’re able to make convincing scratches, rust, metals, wood, carpet, edge wear, dust, etc. all inside blender.

I believe most of the Roblox env art team uses the Substance 3D lineup of products to make materials, but someone correct me if I’m wrong!
