For some time now, I’ve been experiencing a recurring issue with Roblox Studio. Whenever I leave it running in the background unattended—meaning I don’t interact with it at all—for a while, I return to find that it has become extremely laggy and almost unresponsive (sometimes even actually becoming unresponsive, resulting in me having to close it with task manager and reopen it). The lag scales depending on the amount of time that I don’t interact.
This issue disrupts my workflow, as in order to fix the lag, I have to either:
a) Move around a lot (only works when I don’t interact for about 15 minutes or so)
b) Entirely close studio, and reopen it (the case most of the time. this sometimes is a problem, because if the window freezes, loss of progress is possible)
I have spoken to many other creators, and they confirmed that they have this issue as well.
Circling back on this issue - one of the most helpful things here if this is still having a problem would be a microprofiler dump during one of the “slow” periods. Also would be good to note:
Is there any particular behavior you notice that causes this situation to happen more frequently? (Lots of play testing vs scripting, tons of “building” etc). Any other details will be helpful.
Also, does this happen every time or only some times?
Does it happen on the same place or any place with about equal frequency?
