Roblox Studio is capped at 75 FPS after installing a new GPU

Hello!

I recently upgraded my GTX 1660 SUPER to an RTX 4060, I’ve been using Roblox Studio for a few years now with no issues. For some reason, Roblox Studio is being capped at 75 FPS and it’s detecting mouse movement in extremely choppy increments (video below).

Initially it was actually being locked to 50 FPS, it only now just changed to 75 FPS as I was creating this thread and recording this video. I’ve read on the forums that this could be related to V-Sync but I’ve turned it off for Roblox Studio using the NVIDIA Control Panel. Additionally, switching the rendering mode to Vulkan short of remedies the issue (still choppy, just less).

Any help would be appreciated!

Also, I’m getting 144+ when both Play Testing and using the normal Roblox Client.

Heya did you install the drivers for your gpu when you got it, i know its kinda obvious but this could very well be causing your issue. (even if they are install make sure the old gpu drivers aren’t)

Though i am also noticing this behavior on my studio, however less noticeable as its locked to 144fps

What @poopmaniscool8678 said, make sure you install the nvidia app and install the drivers. Also check your cable, if you are using an old HDMI cable, I would upgrade it.

Thank you for your reply!
The GPU had no drivers when I first installed it, so I was forced to install the latest ones through the NVIDIA App.

I’m using a Display Port cable actually, same one I used with my old GPU aswell so that shouldn’t be the issue either : (

Update!

After some further searching around the devforum, I found this thread, which was solved by uncapping the FPS on the GPU. Even though mine was capped at 150, uncapping it solved the issue for me!

The mouse is WAY less stuttery, but it’s still an issue : (
Unsure how to proceed from here.

the mouse stuttering like that seems to be normal studio behavior multiple computers have the same issue where the mouse is a bit jittery
