Why should I even use the DevForum to file feature requests and bug reports if I can do the exact same thing on Support?
Why does the feature requests and bug report section on the Support page even exist if you can use the DevForum?
What is the difference between using Support and the DevForum?
Let’s bring up some points.
People can reply to feedback on the forum, while the support section is private. This way you can get more support and additional info.
Anyone can give feedback using the support section, but the forum needs approval/regular rank or higher, ensuring good posts.
Forum feedback is archived, while using the support just makes it disappear. You can’t re-visit it or edit it.
Feedback on the forum is more versatile. You can add images, format it, etc. Compared to the support website.
People can show approval with likes and responses, while the website does not allow you to see other’s requests.
Support is for everyone, even under 13 but the forum is only 13+.
There’s much fewer feedback posts here, and with higher standards, so staff will pay more attention here.
You’re more likely to get direct feedback from a staff member.
Not everyone can just make a feedback post on the forum.
In all cases you should prefer the DevForum over support for filing bug reports and feature requests.
One is an open forum where other users can see and support your topics, staff can communicate directly with you, and community support for an idea can be way more effectively assessed.
The other is effectively the same as screaming into a null void, hoping the ascended extradimensional horrors inside notice you and forward your feedback to the right people. However it is accessible to people <13 years old.
The one advantage of roblox support is when you get through to a human your issues eventually get solved, for example there are about 3 threads in studio bugs where studio suddenly starts taking up 100% cpu / being exteeemly Laggy on Mac, some of them being years old, however by using support we we’re able to work out a solution in a matter of about a week.
