Hello, as of recently I’ve not been able to use the tools while having a running game in studio.
Have you tried those steps:
- Go to the View tab at the top of Roblox Studio.
- Click on Toolbox to open it.
- From the Toolbox menu, select Reset All.
Leave and rejoin your workspace and the tools should be fixed

I tried checking my self, I guess you can’t use tool box whilst playing the game.
Well I think for myself it may be that you cant use toolbox in Roblox Studio I don’t know why but for me it could affect games status since toolbox does kinda look related to tools in Roblox Studio.
Rather then do that you can redownload Roblox Studio because thats worked for me when I had issues with Roblox Studio.
