Roblox Username changes take very long on Profile/friends/followers/followings
When i asked about it someone told me it’s started happening around the time the API https://apis.roblox.com/user-profile-api/v1/user/profiles/get-profiles was put into use.
I changed my name to see if this is true and it has been Almost 1 hour and my profile page has still not updated
Expected behavior
When a user changes their Username on Roblox the change should be instantaneously applied everywhere
I was JUST thinking about this, too. Considering my username was changed last night, and it still doesn’t travel in the forums yet.
For it to change in the forums you would have to log back in.
This would be a great feature request. A feature that allows for you to automatically update your username and profile picture without having to log back in while also being able to keep it manual like it is currently.
Hopefully they will fix the issue soon.
Hi, thanks for the report, and apologies for the inconvenience! We weren’t able to reproduce the issue, but we made a fix for a potential suspected cause for usernames not showing the updated name properly. Please do feel free to ping us if you are still seeing this issue in the future.
I don’t think this applies to the issue you reported, but for additional context, the website has a short local cache for usernames. Refreshing the tab after ~5 minutes or opening your profile page on a new tab should show the updated username.
