I recently have been getting the “Roblox may not be compatible with some Virtual Reality (VR) headsets” error and some other issues and I was wondering if others have had a similar experience as me
I have owned an oculus 2 VR headset for a while now and it hadn’t caused any issues until a few moths back but I haven’t used it to connect to my pc in over a year (no oculus app, remote desktop or anything) but I have started experiencing this weird bug often where my Roblox client kept closing on its own randomly every 2-3 hours or sometimes even 20 minutes after launching a game (no problems with studio playtest or studio in general just the Roblox client)
I searched it up and found that its likely to do with oculus software and VR stuff in general so I tried to fix it by doing the following but nothing helped:
- I deleted all oculus related apps and files on my system
- I cleared my cache
- I uninstalled and reinstalled Roblox twice and tried alternatives like Bloxtrap
- I tried letting Roblox bypass my anti-virus by allowing it through my fire wall and letting it bypass detection
- I uninstalled my anti-virus and disabled windows security completely
- I updated from windows 10 to windows 11 in case of something weird happening with my windows installation
- I checked my system for any other VR related things unrelated to Roblox (unity projects, steam VR etc.) and there was nothing
and recently as I said I’ve been getting this error even though I haven’t connected the VR headset to my pc since before I tried all of the above
is there something that might be causing Roblox to think I have a headset plugged in like some left over stuff from the oculus app? is something I can do to fix this?
whenever I check the logs after my client closes the logs are clean except for error 285 which tells me nothing as from what I’ve seen its just the default error code for when the application closes
I would contact support but due to the response times and my time zones I always forget to follow through with exams and school work in general and I feel like I’m wasting thier time
am I just stupid and forgot to flick a setting or something? any help is appreciated!
