Can confirm, your game 80% of the time will say “game has shutdown” as soon as you join and is very hard to find a server that doesn’t say that.
I don’t play too often but this happens a lot when I join as well.
Can confirm there’s an issue at your game somehow, I literally cannot find one server that hasn’t shut down or shuts down in about 3 minutes.
I had this issue with other games as well earlier. I wonder if it’s a roblox-wide issue.
Same thing is happening to my game. It’s not scripts running too long or using up massive amounts of memory, they’re all greenlighted in the Dev Console, but servers only seem to live for between half an hour and an hour.
Yeah I have the same issue with my game. I’ve had many players tell me that they just see the “blue skybox” and it sits there for up to 15 minutes then joins the game. I myself have this problem occasionally. This is really hurting all of our games’ player base. Again only a certain percentage of people are experiencing this in my game, but the problem sounds very similar to this one.
I’m having issues with this on a much smaller project but it’s not as evident. Users are still reporting it, but for every 20-30 players that join every hour, maybe 1 or MAYBE 2 will report that it’s repeatedly shutting down.
My game had a huge drop in concurrent players and dislikes spiked around the same time that this was posted. I think it was because players who kept getting disconnected didn’t understand that it was happening everywhere and disliked, then never came back. I don’t know if it’s is why (because nobody tells me anything), but if this is the problem and the huge amount of dislikes aren’t because of me, i’ll really upset.
By the way, this isn’t supposed to be a hate letter, I just really want to know if this is what’s causing the huge amount of dislikes and if it is I would like to have those reverted since it was Roblox’s fault and not mine.
I assume the influx of dislikes comes exclusively from new players, so I would recommend that Roblox added a playtime requirement greater than zero seconds, or at least require that the player actually loads the game, before allowing them to leave a rating.
I think a more all-encompassing solution would be to have older ratings become less important than newer ones. Currently, the overall ratings aren’t very accurate. For instance, if my game is bug-ridden for the first month and gets a 40% dislike ratio, even after I’ve fixed all the bugs and my weekly ratings are regularly at a 2% dislike ratio, the ratings bar will still show “this is probably a bad game”. Inversely, if I have an amazing game that gets a 2% dislike ratio and a ROBLOX update breaks it to where my weekly dislike ratio is 40%, it will take a while to whittle down the overall rating.
How does this solve poor ratings while the game is crashing? It doesn’t – I don’t think it should. If 50% of players experience disconnects, other players should be made aware of that until the issue is resolved.
Pretty sure this happened at the game jam, lol.
Theses appear to be different issues. The original post shows a shutdown during join. Delayed connections and delayed shutdowns are likely different issues.
i think this issue has to do with player count, i was able to join a VIP server alone just fine but when visting the place normally i get shutdown
How’s your internet speed?
its ok, i guess
but i dont think its internet connection since i was able to load up the map and some of the playerlist, it just shuts down before i can spawn in
To add to the current discussion;
This has happened for more than 5 different games (100% occourence) over 2 devices today. Could it be an issue with one of the European servers? Either that, or world-scale, but I’m just throwing out a guess here.
Getting reports of this happening to players trying to join my game as well!
Have they done anything about this yet? My game is getting an insane amount of dislikes from players not being able to join.
I’m worried it won’t be in top rated anymore if this keeps up.
So I attempted to join a server of Ultimate Driving just now and ended up in a server that almost seemed like it was caught in some kind of limbo.
The server output logs were spammed up with things like this:

(Notice how my character spawned in as a default from like, 2010.)
Here’s what this twenty-minute-old broken server’s memory situation looked like:

Now compare that to a normally functioning three-hour-old server:

I witnessed several instances of the server proclaiming that someone had joined the game, but the leaderboard never changed leading me to believe that these people all lost connection immediately.
