Roblox's Intellisense seems to be broken

Hello there, so I’ve been having a problem with writing code on roblox studio nowadays, because I came across an extremely annoying problem where intellisense just broke for no reason. You can see when I wrote ‘hi’, nothing happens which is unusual.

Expected behavior

I expected the script editor to detect warnings/errors on my code and autofill for me. However, it doesn’t do that.

I have tried reinstalling the program. It fixed for a bit, but when I went to my modulescripts, it stopped working again.

UPDATE: It seemed to fix it when I enabled a beta feature called “New Luau Type Solver” and restarted studio. This probably isn’t the case. I’ll update in a bit if it ever acts strangely again

Hi,

Thanks for letting us know about this.

It’s somewhat unusual that enabling the New Type Solver fixes the issue, usually disabling does the trick.

In any case, please let us know if you run into problems again.

i’ve found that this wasn’t the case, since intellisense just randomly started working again. i’ll update you if the problem reoccurs.

Also, there seems to be around a 1-2 second delay with the intellisense everytime I’m done writing code. It makes fast typing useless because it takes long to register that you easily make errors.

Hi, sorry to hear that!

If there is a way that you could share your project with us in a private message maybe we could troubleshoot it.

Short of that perhaps we could look at your Studio logs.

Thanks for the help!

Hey, thanks for offering to help! Intellisense seems to be running (kinda) faster now, and I’ve also switched to using vscode with rojo, which is working well for me. Since my project is pretty big, I’d rather not share it at this time.

I also figured it might just be my pc running Roblox Studio poorly, since it just randomly started working again.,

Thanks for your support and dedication.
