I created a group back in 2020, and then got this automated ban for “inappropriate username”
I managed to appeal it but I lost that username and someone else sniped it from me with this account
Whats worse is that it doesn’t even show up as one of my previous usernames but rather a “Reset” username instead
The good thing is, I got appealed and my group didn’t get deleted but its so frustrating either way

Since groups have a 30 day limit in any moderation appeal, I didn’t discover that there was a Chrome Extension to even see my group which moderation locked until many months later. Moderation had deliberately concealed and kept any and all evidence from me so my appeals in the 30 day time from were operating entirely in the dark.
Because of this it should be the duty of moderation to share any and all information regarding a ban.
Moderation will only seem legitimate if the user believes if the process is fair.
Otherwise it will feel arbitrary like the weather, or worse, deliberately capricious.
Obviously Roblox is not the only platform, but this arbitrary moderation system on a platform that is supposed to center on creativity makes the problem even more worse.
Does this platform have rules or are they words of whimsy on the wind?
guys i just got banned for 3 hours and im crying so hard… like what i am gonna do without roblox i cant handle it

I learned now that no matter what your asset ID contains, Roblox’s non-existant appeal team will punish you for it. 0 minutes have passed, and “they” supposingly reviewed an asset ID.
I’m lucky that I didn’t straight up get banned like a lot of other people have been for no reason.
Obviously I will NEVER use my main account to upload assets anymore, but even then they may bring on IP bans for us, or remove the ability to let other accounts share assets. So who knows if we’re even safe then. If that time comes I will no longer use Roblox for developing as it will have become unusable. There’s not even a discussion to be had.

Their ‘moderation’ team just tells you what you’ve already been told, nothing.
And then does nothing.
Every.
Single.
Time.
Their “team” is either bots or people paid to just sit there and deal with us.
Issues are just thrown aside to create new kinds of clothes and animated faces.
I’ve considered moving offsite several times. I would just have to learn another coding language, then make money for myself. And not a deaf supercompany who thrives on OUR successes.
HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE STAFF HERE TELL YOU TO USE ALT ACCOUNTS. DOES ROBLOX NOT SEE THAT AS AN ISSUE??

Wow. Roblox moderators are so shocked at how many people agree with this they aren’t commenting. Wild.
A couple have recommended it to me and quite a few others. They understand things are broken, but the staff here don’t have the capabilities to fix it.

Even the people working in the system can’t reason with a rules-based bureaucratic, algorithmic machine.
The silver lining is that Roblox is not alone. Many large publicly traded online platforms have this moderation problem that have rules and policies that are obtuse with opaque operations.
Have you realistically seen a DEVFORUM moderator comment on anything except a bug report? Let alone an actual moderator and/or engineer (excluding bitdancer)

sue roblox thats just buying one of their items the person made. Its like saying a person made a gamepass and you buy that gamepass and your account gets deleted for it. Thats false banning

Ive gotten account deleted from my main account and roblox support is complete useless it doesnt help at all
