Rome - A Few Things [New Post]

That is amazing.

How do I join?

Absolutely amazing, “cough” put it in a spotlight ROBLOX!

Here comes the best blog post in roblox history.

Put that in your portfolio if you ever apply for a game design job.
Heck. That COULD be your portfolio.

@LostInfinity Who made your profile avatar? I’m in love with the style. Amazing work to whoever did.

Also: Thank you for making climbable trees. Great vistas.

Mother of god,
I wish I could build like this

Aha, thanks. I see that there’s some siege works in the background there.

Might I ask how long this took you? This would of taken me at least 3-4 years with my level of building skills.

So since people liked the pictures, I’m going to post a few more, except this time it’s of different player experiences (That i’ll explain under each one) and some boats that will be CSG’ed and used to sail around the ocean :DDD

BOATS

The picture below shows three types of boats, the first is a “Roman Transport” which doesn’t have any flags because it’s powered purely from the legionaries/sailors/ rowing the boat underneath the deck, you can see on the other boats there are also hoes at the side of the boat where oars can be placed, however there are no oars because they have sails!

The second boat is the longest and it does indeed have sails, as well as a small cabin at the back of the boat that is used by the ships commander to plan, sleep, etc.

The boat in the back is the smallest boat, and has no cabin, rather, a tent at the back that is used basically for the same purposes as the larger one. These boats aren’t really used as front-line attack vessels they’re more for commanders or can be utilized as siege-equipment carrying vessels (Like flaming pots or scorpios)

SCREENSHOTS

The inside of the colosseum is opened up on one of my places, and every few days we throw the soldiers in there and they do large-scale gladiator games, where we give the winners special prizes like shields with markings on them (In-game). You can see in the background a nice podium where we sit and watch the fight, although a lot of the time we get involved too.

Similar to the arena, we get 50 players from different legions (50 is the server max, I wish we could do more!) and we have an empty version of Roman Parthia where we give them spawn-areas, play some Cool Music and then pit them against eachother. Sometimes the battles last around 30 minutes, because rather than the conventional team-deathmatch, we only give them one life so tactics like line rotation and adherence to tactics actually used by the Ancient Romans during the Republic/Empire periods is usually seen often.

At Roman Parthia there’s also deployable items, and here’s a cool setup the legionaries made, with 12 Onagers (Catapults) lined up within a small fort, that were used to bombard enemies who kept trying to take it over.

If there’s anyone that needs the 100 player servers, it’s you.

Just want you to know how amazing that stuff looks. You really used lighting to your advantage.

Some of the best building I have seen in years.

My profile picture ^

Definitely by far the most impressive group place I’ve ever seen in years. This stuff, especially the lighting, is great.

Also, the dedication to this place on your part is amazing.

My god… those boats! I mean yeah, everything else is absolutely fantastic too… but THOSE BOATS!! 10/10

No Jc, you’re making me want to come back and get Misenensis going D: I don’t have time for that.

Bah, who needs sleep? :woohoo:

Amazing! Is there any plugins that you found really useful during this project?

I would of quit before I even made 1/4 of that progress. You sir have dedication!

I’m going to Rome in October, looks like I can go here on vacation instead
