Rotating a 2d planar MeshPart seems to affect the transparency of the attached SurfaceAppearance. Is this a studio bug? I’m unsure if I put this in the right category.

Is it the sun light affecting the SurfaceAppearance?
I don’t think so, I’ve tried turning off globalshadows and setting the time to noon (sun directly overhead) but the effect is still there. I’m not 100% confident in messing around with shadows so maybe I’m overlooking something?
That being said though, it does seem like a shadow issue since it only appears in certain orientations
Huh… it may not be a shading issue either. I’m unable to mitigate it by setting the part material to Neon (or ForceField as this post suggested).
That said, I’ve also noticed that it affects all textures on 2d plane meshes, including decals. I can’t replicate this issue on 3d models.
