Rune ideas for Spell Game

Hey all! I’ve begun work on my latest project, SPAWN POINT. It’s going to be a dungeon crawler about drawing runes (aka spells) to cast them and use on enemies or puzzles. The testing version, however, is a physics sandbox with spells to mess around with. I’d like ideas on runes and what they could do!


In the video, you can see I draw something similar to the well-known SpawnLocation icon. This rune is detected and the spell is casted (the Spawn Point spell respawns my character). The second rune I draw currently does nothing.

(…yes. i am working on a fireball rune.)

If you write out “Grow a Garden,” make it so that you instantly lose health.

After playing with it for a few seconds, it seems very incorrect in recognizing the drawn patterns. I’m no artist, but I draw a triangle, and it keeps casting Pandora’s box. And other failures to properly spell cast. Maybe I’m just not built for magic :rofl:

weird, it only fails about 10% of the time for me. can you send a recording on how you’re drawing these?

(also, i am aware that it sometimes confuses Pandora’s Box with Lumos)
