Running Roblox Studio for more than an hour slows my ENTIRE computer down

Before you ask the obvious:

My computer can run Roblox Studio

PC Specs

CPU: Intel i5-10400F

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2060

RAM: 64 GB RAM Corsair Vengence 3400Mhz

PSU: Not sure of wattage

1x M.2 500GB SSD (where studio is located)

1x 256 GB SSD

Closing Roblox Studio doesn’t fix it either.

This has been nonstop for months and I am stumped. I use Roblox Studio to obviously, make games. However, for whatever reason; the longer I use it, the slower my PC gets. When first using Roblox Studio I can load a game within 10 seconds. After an hour it takes about a minute and gives me the whole “Program is not responding” thing while it is loading. This would be fine if it wasn’t for the fact that it slows EVERYTHING down. Even when it’s closed! Trying to load into a Roblox game even simple ones is very time-consuming and nearly impossible. Videos, just… don’t load. You get the idea. Nothing works! Task Manager detects nothing eating on my PC components. Even restarting my computer doesn’t work. The only solution I have found is to either, 1. Turn my computer off for at least an hour or 2. Reset my computer. I have done the second option twice now which fixes it until I run Roblox Studio again.

Please help me lol.

Have you been using toolbox models, or have a piece of code running whenever you test the game?

It could be you have unwanted scripts running in the workspace OR your scripts are unoptimized (loops without wait times)

It doesn’t matter if I use the toolbox or have any code. I could be building a map from just parts. No toolbox or scripts and boom, slowdown.

Edit: Not many plugins either

It could just be your computer not having enough RAM. This can happen a lot if you have several other memory-intensive applications open. Web browsers with several tabs are commonly known to devour RAM, so quitting them while working on studio could potentially be beneficial.

-Edit: I just saw your RAM specs lol, so unless you have 500 tabs or are on Minecraft detonating thousands of TNT, it shouldn’t be a problem

Yeah, I used to have 16 GB of ram, and wanted to try out Unreal 5 so I got 64 GB of ram. I think 64GB is more than enough for Roblox studio lol

Yep lol

At long last I found a solution… but not the issue.

I just set my PC to Ultimate Performance Mode. There are tutorials online on how to enable this. I wish I could find the root cause of why studio permanently slowed my PC down in the first place but this solution will do for now.

Any suggestions would be nice.

You know as you’re working away at something in studio, and all the while it is saving all those "undo"s, might it be somthing to do with that?
