Honestly sometimes its a bit like impersonation sometimes for people that don’t have a star code, people could be pretending to be them and some people would fall for it. I do get the humorous side of it too.

When I change my display name, it doesn’t change it on the roblox dev forum. I’m not sure if that is a bug or on purpose, but it won’t update. Is there a reason for this?

You just need to log out of the Dev forums and then log back in. It’ll update to show your display name.

What do display names add, really? All they seem to be doing is constantly making me look at a username that’s just a regular word and then having to constantly check to remember that nope it’s not a namesnipe it’s just some guy with a normal username with a display name.

Because this way instead of someone calling you Bob1274850 you can just be Bob.

It’s fun for roleplaying; otherwise, it’s another hurdle for finding players by their names, 'cus usernames are less common.
