Screen flaring (on M1 Macs) and blackened shapes (all computers)

Reproduction Steps

If you go to our game, NEW UPDATE SOON - Roblox, you’ll be able to see the screen flaring issues on M1 computers.

The black screen happens during our customization lobby page occasionally. You’ll need to DM us to whitelist you to our Milestones development version of the game.

Expected Behavior

The M1 bug should be fairly consistent, you’ll see bright flaring in the display screen like in the above screenshot. If you weren’t on a M1 Mac, it should look more like this:

The black shapes bug will crate black voids in the gun model. We changed every single lighting setting and couldn’t get rid of it. When working correctly, it should look like this: (without any black shapes blocking the model)

Actual Behavior

M1 bug: colorful flares will show up all over the screen.

Black shapes will show up / cover the models:

I think this is related to Layered Clothing. Rolling thunder users on Ipads and Iphones are getting these same issues a million times worse. Didn’t occur until we implemented characters with layered accessories.

This problem is most likely with arm architecture. Not sure if it is just apple silicon…

Interesting. Our game actually hasn’t implemented layered clothing yet, so it might be something else.

It’s more likely because of Rosetta. I think if they compile Roblox to Universal, this should be fixed.

Bumping as it’s still an active issue. IPad and IPhone users can’t play at all due to these issues.

Are the black shapes supposed to be shadows that the Roblox lighting engine made?
