Script editor indents in the line at the incorrect location

Some time ago (not sure when) indent behavior was changed when you had highlighted parts of a line. Before it would replace the highlighted text with an indent, now it will select the entire line and indent the line forwards or backwards depending on your key presses.

Shown in the video below is the studio editor (top) with the bug and a sublime text window (bottom) showing the old desired behavior.

Repro steps:

  1. open any script in roblox studio
  2. type out any line of text to test with
  3. select a portion of the line and press tab, observe the behavior

I can repro this 100% of the time on a windows 10 computer running studio version 0.356.0.224916

This bug started happening to me during the Accelerator Program. I think this might be the same problem.

This same problem with comments started happening to me as well(Found it because I put smiley faces in my comments)

Getting alot of lag when collapsing and expanding folds

And after a bit, this is what the ‘collapsed’ version of my code looks like.

I’ve reported this while I was at HQ and it never got fixed.

This bug has continued to be unaddressed for almost 6 months now, I really don’t want to have to move to another script editor

Another problem that started around the same time, in very large scripts (12k line in my example) the script editor lags whenever I type, and if I type fast enough sometimes it will skip characters

Greetings I am back. Still happening. Very annoying!

The thing that bothers me the most about this is that it started happening randomly sometime during this summer, it wasn’t always like this, which makes me think that something was changed or added that caused this to happen

This might be placebo but it appears to be working alot better, but after opening a big script I still saw a couple instances where it wouldn’t collapse properly still
